How long did you want Mary to stay a virgin?

Yeah I remember someone getting wise and asking that in Sunday school back in the day; the teacher then got sweaty and said the first two were step-siblings or something.

There is split opinion amogst churches whether that is actually direct blood brothers or more half-brothers or cousins etc, but in any case it makes for interesting genealogical research.

Yes. If you read the next verse.... He also had sisters. Matthew 13:55-56: 55 "Isn't this the carpenter's son? Isn't his mother's name Mary, and aren't his brothers James, Joseph, Simon and Judas? 56 Aren't all his sisters with us? Where then did this man get all these things?"

And he had sisters
This is well known.
There is no reason that Mary should stay a virgin her entire life.

He had brothers and sisters but they are all younger than him. Mary was only “the Virgin Mary”, when Jesus was born. After that, she was a common housewife of Joseph.

Scripture never speaks of Mary remaining a virgin for life. I'm sure that after Jesus was born, she and Joseph did their business with no worries.

I can: As a pious Jew, why would St. Joseph want to have sexual relations with Mary, after God Had already Been in her? Keep in mind, that Jewish people do not even utter the Name Of God!!

Matthew & Luke have said: Mary Conceived the Christ Child via the Holy Spirit. There is nothing sexual about that, because God Is Spirit.
