Happy Birthday Connie Sawyer!  Born on November 27, 1912 in Pueblo, Colorado. Thanks for Everything so far. One of the oldest members of the Academy of Motion Picture Arts and Sciences. Her early career included working as a stand-up comedian and nightclub performer. Sawyer's first television appearances were in The Milton Berle Show and The Jackie Gleason Show in the late 1940s.   Movie debut in A Hole in the Head 1959 (reprising her Broadway role)  When she was young and 99. Active as an actress up until 2014.  Here she is the centerpiece in a scene from Pineapple Express 2008. |

Oh Yes,
I remember her being interviewed on TCM before the airing of A Hole in the Head.
She was the lady in that movie that lived in Frank Sinatra's Miami Beach Hotel..always running up and down the stairs.

Yes, a wonderful character actress, Connie Sawyer began her career in 1953 and her last credit (so far) is in 2014 - a 61 year career. She's commonly considered to be the oldest living working actress. Here's a very short clip of her talking to Ben Mankiewicz when she was 104. You have to watch it. It's amazing! And only yesterday:  Happy 105th Birthday, Connie Sawyer, on November 27, 2017. You are an inspiration to all! Many happy returns.  |
