This can also serve as a thread for The Golden Palace, Empty Nests, and Nurses as they all spun off from The Golden Girls.
Let's cut a slice of cheesecake and talk about our favorite characters and episodes.

Loved them! Sophia was my favorite because of her blunt speech.

You know, I never can get into TGG but a few yrs back, caught the entire Golden Palace and was addicted to it. Absolutely LOVED it! I guess Bea Arthur ruins it for me, dunno? I'm the opposite. I thought GG should've been allowed to end without the sequel.

I think you are the only person that liked The Golden Palace more than the original D: D: D: I liked TGP, but without Bea Arthur it just didn't work for me. She was my favorite of the main actresses. I guess I can relate to Dorothy a lot.

Y'know, I can't understand why AntennaTV doesn't air THE GOLDEN PALACE but it does air that excrable THREE'S A CROWD. Both shows only lasted one season.

I'm bummed that Golden Palace was never released on DVD. I have recordings of the Lifetime airings. Lots of missing scenes, but I'll take what I can get.

Yes! Bea was the best. Her comedic timing and double takes were perfect.

I wish The Golden Girls could actually get its own sub board, there's so much to talk about. Something I was going to bring up before the boards closed on IMDb was that famous scene, "CONDOMS, ROSE! CONDOMS CONDOMS CONDOMS!" my opinion, as memorable as it became, that's not bad given it wasn't even from a 'real' episode.

I remember Dorothy shouting that at Rose. Hilarious! π
As for the subforum, I'm not sure how that's determined.

The Golden Girls are like no calorie comfort food. But you know, as much as I liked the show, I have no favorite episode of it. No episode really stands out for me as being particularly good or bad.

I always loved this clip, and was surprised it was on youtube. Sorry for the quality I have no idea who uploaded it, but it does that trick.

I was always curious to have seen what characters Charlie ( Rose's late husband ) and Phil ( Sofia's son & Dorthy's brother ) looked like ( even if it was only in a few family photos ? ) . Thanks so much BlueJay for your subject post .

It was the dream episode with the side story of Dorthy being wooed over by both actors Sonny Bono and Lyle Waggoner . Thanks so much Daisy for mentioning this episode too .
