It absolutely ruins the movie for me.
-Desaturated color timing. Why? Is it because they thought we'd take the character more seriously? It's ugly and it doesn't fit. And of course the one color they do use is teal: Typical Hollywood garbage color grading, everything's always gotta be teal.
-Handheld cameras for every scene! WHY?? It's so annoying! Every frame wobbles- every damn frame! I've seen steadier camera work in home movies! I really wish this trend would go away already.
-The action scenes are a mess of quick editing and shaky cam. Michael Bay would be proud.
Its especially appalling because Snyder's visuals in Watchmen are outstanding. Why did he have to go this route? It's like a completely different director.
(Yeah, this is old news. I know. But a friend just had me rewatch the movie and I felt like ranting)

I actually enjoyed Man of Steel and liked the direction the DCEU was going. I feel the visuals in Justice League were way worse.

Just drab, dull colors.
For a movie that seems to think Hope is one of its themes, it's pretty visually bleak.

Snyder's visuals in Watchmen are outstanding. Why did he have to go this route? It's like a completely different director. Snyder was told to follow Nolan's bidding and shoot the film the way Nolan told him to. Snyder also had to hire Nolan's people like Hans Zimmer. Man of Rehash was supposed to be a "Dark Knight style" version of Superman.

TDK trilogy wasn't desaturated either. Nolan also never used orange teal color timing for interior shots, and MoS is full of that.

I think Zack wanted to go for a Terrence Malick, cinéma vérité aesthetic. The color stuff idk.

Most of the time stuff like that doesn't bother me. It's a terrible movie story wise.

I'd take the slow motion over shaky cam any day.
