I enjoy Dragon Tattoo, but it is the sequels which complete the trilogy that truly make the story memorable, I feel.
Never bothered with the fourth book.

I only read the first book.
The American movie is a better adaptation.

I read the first book and was very disappointed, given all the hype. The mystery just kinda peters out. I was hoping for something as good as the first half of Smilla's Sense of Snow.

Read all 3 of Stieg Larsson's Lisbeth Salander books and absolutely enjoyed them. Didn't know about The Girl in the Spider's Web. I'm not sure I will read it. The first three L. Salander's books were so thrilling and I'm happy to have them end with the The Girl Who Kicked the Hornet's Nest.

I really enjoyed the trilogy. I haven't read the fourth book and don't know anything about it. I liked both adaptations of the first book but think Fincher's version is superior. Rooney Mara and Daniel Craig are both much better than their counterparts from the Swedish films.

I didn’t read the books but I just finished watching the 9-hour, 6-episode mini-series made in Sweden in 2008. The next year, the series was released in the U.S. as three feature films. The films edited out about two hours of the TV series.
The series was mesmerizing. The time just flew by (except for stretches of episode 5 which consist of a lot of interrogation Q and A.). Lizbeth’s trial, done quietly with all parties seated and no dramatic raised voices as in U.S. movie trials, is a wonderful catharsis.

I liked the books and liked the swedish trilogy and the Finch-flick. Was impressed by The Girl in the Spider's Web because I think that he had captured Stieg Larssons writing-style.
Actually read in a swedish newspaper today that they are looking for a new Lisbeth Salander for a new american movie about The Girl in the Spider's Web. Planned release 2018.

I read the first book, and it was ok in an airport novel kinda way, I wouldn't elevate it above the works of Dan Brown or James Patterson. The financial intrigue wrapper around the narrative is entirely pointless, and the grand-reveal plot-device of looking through old photographs is a remarkably un-literary way of dealing with the turning point. I'm surprised they didn't trial that on radio first.
