...He will not be in Matt Reeves' "The Batman" linkMy guess is that Reeves' film will take place early in Batman's career, so it makes sense to cast a younger actor in the role ( hence what he means by "fresh talent"). I'm fine with that honestly, the introduction to Batman in the DCEU was him at his lowest point where he had been established in Gotham for twenty years and I think the possibilities are endless of who are his "old friends" he tells Lex of that still reside in Arkham Asylum.

Well at least they've got a direction of sorts.
Thank goodness the days of Affleck going back and forth about whether he wants to be Batman anymore are gone.

The only way this even makes sense is if the story in Flashpoint changes how Batman/Bruce looks at the end of the movie. Otherwise Affleck is just cashing in on his last appearance.

That was my thought when the storys about Matt Reeves film not having Affleck in it. I put it out there that maybe when Flash does his Flashpoint movie he screws it up somehow and it ends up leaving Matt Reeves casted version of Batman in the Justice League universe where as the Ben Affleck version just disappears or whatever.

They should just get Jake Gyllenhaal as Batman but not a younger version. I’d just add make up, gray hair, etc to make him look like the current Batman. That way, the audience will know that the 30+ year old actor can last 10+ years as Batman if he wants.

Why would anyone want to supplant the Chris Nolan Batman trilogy?
In a universe occupied by beings with vast super powers, Batman is just an idiot in a bat costume.
That sort of thing might have been okay in the Saturday morning cartoons, but it doesn't work in non-campy feature films.
DCEU should have recognized and jettisoned some of the stupider aspects of their superheros.

Okay... my roommate and I were bouncing ideas. Here's what we came up with:
-Reeves's story is a prequel, in which case you almost can't have Affleck and would need someone who either is or could pass for ages 19-25 to cover his meeting Raz/training with the League of Shadows, coming back to Gotham, taking his first steps as the Dark Knight, etc. -Reeve's story is a semi-prequel that also sets up the new BATMAN/Bruce Wayne actor at the end. So basically the movie covers the very beginnings of Bruce becoming Batman (think at the speed JACK RYAN: SHADOW RECRUIT got you up to speed on getting Ryan from a college student to a CIA agent with a back problem), then buzzes up to a 'present day' of Bruce having his teenage sidekick/adopted son and their adventures, them coming across The Joker for the first time, the Joker killing Bruce's son, Bruce burning down the old Wayne Manor in his fight with Joker (or someone else?), then ending with whomever the new Bruce Wayne actor is as Bruce just before Bruce heads off to hang out with Superman/WW/League or goes off into Gotham's streets to fight some crime with Alfred sassing him over the radio. -Reeves is just going to make a movie that ignores Ben Affleck's existance and may not entirely hold into the shared universe at all, since it seems DC studios is backing up somewhat on that idea.
Those were the only three we thought might work, to explain why no Affleck. Our last idea was that they are going to have Affleck hand over the reins to someone so the whole movie amounts to passing a torch, and some new person gets to be Batman a la THE DARK KNIGHT RISES. (I'm already pretty much done if it doesn't have Affleck, but if they go with this line, I may not bother seeing any future JUSTICE LEAGUE movies either. I can get my WW and SM fixes watching WONDER WOMAN 2 & 3 and MAN OF STEEL 2 & 3.
