I know there's this whole, "use flashpoint to fix/reset/etc everything" but what does that really accomplish if the audience still doesn't show up. And why would you expect them to? They obviously left after BVS, and JL hasn't won over me. So why would they show up?

People didn't like BVS or SS yet they showed up for Wonder Woman because they liked the character. People seem to feel the same way about Flash.

As much as I hated JL, I would still love to see JDM as Batman.

Same reason why they showed up to see Wonder Woman. If it's good, people will go see it.

Many of its story beats and alternate takes on classic characters have become iconic. I believe that the fans think that the ingenuity of the story's time travel premise will universally translate to general audiences.

Not if they've already given up on the DCEU, they wouldn't be there to see it, and the point is there's really no reason to think they're coming back out. So how does that help the DCEU?

It's mostly because I knew it sucked from MOS and it's just been like watching this snowball effect with people screaming "there is no snowball" the entire time, and well the snowball finally hit the fan, and I'm wondering why so many people didn't see it in the first place.

Why is Flashpoint the first story they want to do with the Flash? The story is only a few years old, and he has more to offer than that.

Do you think I just made a lucky guess and the whole thing failed for a completely different reason?

The story is only a few years old, and he has more to offer than that. ^THIS Before people even get introduced to ideas like the speed force, they're going to get thrust into a complicated time-travel story. It's a weird strategy. I'm assuming they are doing this because they need to immediately distinguish the movie Flash's world from his TV counterpart.

Until recently I figured it was because WB had a hardon for team-ups. Now it's apparent they are playing pining for a reset of the DCEU's unpopular elements and for them, Flashpoint seems the way to go.

Boy-o, if I were the powers that be at Warner Bros., my first thought to save the franchise wouldn’t be jumping over to an alternate universe story.
