Alexa Bliss has thankfully defeated arch nemesis Sasha Banks in the United Arab Emirates classic to retain her title in a fully clothed, modesty match. There's only one goddess in WWE and she continues to make history in 2017. Coverage in the mainstream UK press has been rampant yet largely respectful for a change. "HISTORY was made tonight when Sasha Banks and Alexa Bliss became the first female wrestlers to compete in the United Arab Emirates. When the WWE toured the region last year, the organisation's "Divas" were not allowed to compete in the ring. But on an emotional night in Abu Dhabi Banks and Bliss, both ditching their traditional skimpy attire for full costumes, had the crowd on their feet cheering. Men and women in the packed out stadium chanted "this is hope", as the athletes showed their skills in the ring. Speaking after the Raw title match, Banks was very emotional at making history in the Middle East. Speaking through tears, she said: "It feels so crazy, I haven't had this feeling in a while and right before I went out I started crying thinking how huge this is and how much it is bigger than me."

Meanwhile, the reigning champ has put Japanese hotshot Asuka on notice, Absolution are reeling, and the only Goddess in town is here to stay. Best thing is, she's only just begun and the countdown is operational ...
“I’m really excited for Asuka to come to Raw. We’re in the middle of the women’s revolution and are always looking to take it to the next level. Asuka has a lot to offer and can help us do that. I am definitely going to watch and see what she can do. I trained with her in NXT for a year and I am really excited to see her on the main roster. I would love to have a pay-per-view match with her and would love for her to try and take my title away, and to be the first person to beat her and show that she’s not that unbeatable.”

I was actually happier about their interview they just conducted together about the event. Whatever bad blood they might have, they were at least able to put aside for the moment, which is progress. They're both too good to be at odds with each other outside of the ring.
The stars for Alexa Bliss vs Asuka were sure lining up before Absolution came into the picture. I mean, Alexa was pretty much the one to beat for about a whole year, up until Asuka finally made it to the main roster. She was already the biggest threat to her, because her track record was even clearer of losses, and Alexa was already starting to worry as soon as Asuka was announced to be coming to Raw. She would've definitely taken her insecurities to the next level after one of the last couple ppvs, and Asuka would've had to shut her up, and put an end to her reign.
I guess we'll just have to wait now, though. Paige is back, and she's gonna beat Asuka to the punch in winning the title off of Alexa, and she's gonna try to beat Alexa to the punch in being the first to beat Asuka.

I didn't see the interview but I heard about it. When Stephanie McMahon announced the historic Royal Rumble for 2018 on 'Raw' this week, she singled out Sasha Banks as a gamechanger, while doffing her cap to Alexa Bliss who was busy hugging her pal Nia Jax like she was Bayley lol (understandable as Jax must fancy her chances for a first bigtime title victory in a 'Rumble' match). If Banks and Bliss are no longer at each others throats I'm sure the heated rivalry will still remain. This pair of tried and tested multi-champions have time on their side - I hope more titles come their way and more epic match-ups.
