That final scene was stupid. They had a perfectly adequate final shot of the resistance on the Falcon with the porg on r2’s head. I liked that.

That I don't even recall the final shot/scene of TLJ speaks for itself & I saw it just over a week ago.
I still liked it enough, better than TFA, just not much of a special event. Rogue One is better than both easily.

I loved the final scene. It shows that although fight against tyranny is in a dark place, there are seeds of hope always being planted in the GFFA.

How can broom boy use the force when he's received no training whatsoever?

How can broom boy use the force when he's received no training whatsoever? That question has been asked for centuries without answers. It's also known as Grace vs. Deeds, Nature vs. Nurture, etc. Is a great connection to the Force a birthright, or earned, or both? Who decides who gets that access, the Force, the user or both? Are there more variables that tilt the favor to one side vs. the other? We always talk about this from the perspective of the human in this whole thing, what about the perspective of the Force?

I loved the final scene. It shows that although fight against tyranny is in a dark place, there are seeds of hope always being planted in the GFFA. It was tonally inappropriate and inconsistent with the previous "saga" films. This is the sort of asymmetry and inattention to detail that makes the Disney movies cash-grab garbage with little rewatch value. It was fine for an anthology movie though.

It looks like Rian Johnson thinks that nature is the winner. Rey turns to the dark side so easily. She was obviously born bad. In the prequels, Anakin’s turn to the dark side coincided with anger and negative thoughts. Rey never seemed to exhibit such emotions Although she did appear to grow up alone without love. Maybe she was repressing these emotions.

Or maybe she's a cardboard one-dimensional Mary Sue and none of what you wrote has literally ever occurred to the idiots churning this stuff out. Yo, maybe you should write IX, bro.

Character motivation and history is not relevant for falling to the dark side anymore. If Rey can "download" the Force and skills without learning, why should she not be able to download the dark side as well, or delete it when she does not need it anymore? Duh! Never heard of the dark net, it's a thing.

Maybe she'll become a GreyJedi~* in IX!!!!1 (Leave it to the childfucking cultists at Disney to muddle a morally explicit concept like the Force into oblivion... whoops, wrong forum!!!!1)

Their effort is to simplify (dumb down) the mythology to make it more accessible for new audiences. You saw that eg when they reduced the first film to Ties vs X-Wings, so not to confuse general audiences with other or new crafts.

Disney probably won't go through with it.

Oh, I don't think that final scene was an inattention to detail. It was a statement.
