A masochist? No. An amateur book collector? Yes. I don't discard books. Besides, I've enjoyed the new canon books for the most part. And the book in question takes place before TLJ, back when the story hadn't been entirely fucked by terrible writing yet. I still like those stories. good luck with that. Holdo is everywhere and she's even more annoying (for you). Also you can collect books and not read them. You sure about that? So you're telling me that Ackbar is mentioned to be standing around in all her scenes in the book but never says anything and that she's even more a cuckold to men? The hell I can.

The hell I can. what's a cuckold? A man whose wife cheats, especially to humiliate him. But it's been stretched to include men being emasculated in general.

I don't know what does ackbar have to do with it, isn't he dead when she first appears? She's... Hmmm Looney... Like that girl from Harry Potter, what's her name... With the white hair or something...

This is almost as bad as you not remembering a single instance where Luke has watched Vader murder someone he cares about. Almost, but not quite. I don't know. I hate Harry Potter, so...

the ackbar standing around What I meant by her being more annoying potentially in the book was that she annoyed me in the movie because her entire character should have been played by Ackbar. So I was just wondering if he also appears in the book with her and serves no purpose (like we saw in the movie).

So what you said was misleading, you implied they were together in some scenes and he just doesn't do anything. There's another female Captain? that counsels Leia and ackbar is present, but holdo is not in the same ship I don't think when ackbar is killed. That Vader thing was low blow if they are not together so I'm not remembering wrong. It's just you annoyed by the fact that ackbar didn't get to be the hero and died without a bang. Tsk tsk

Tsk tsk No, everything about Holdo is annoying. Her demeaning behavior toward Poe, her purple hair, her stupid costume and her mystifying approach to leadership. And I'm no Ackbar slappy. I personally couldn't care less about the character. What I do care about is good writing and being reverent to what has come before. RJ sucks at writing and showed no reverence to the preceding movies and Disney allowed it to happen. So they both suck.

Ultimately they needed a character for us to hate, for Poe to hate, and ultimately be proven wrong. She could have been played by anyone really. That's not the point. The point is for Poe to understand that he is not the all knowing all blowing jock he thinks he is. He needs that failure to be a leader.

He only went apeshit because the plan appeared to be "wait and die slowly." Perhaps if some idiot Vice Admiral had iterated the real plan, we'd have seen that Poe had no reason to fail in the first place. Furthermore, when Leia said that him making the decision to lead the bombing run was wrong, that's retarded. Any real tactician in a real war would have said, "First of all, if you ever disregard my orders again, I'll have you thrown in the brig. But I'm glad this one time that you didn't listen to me. Yes, you sacrificed a dozen bombers and roughly forty of our men and women, but in so doing you fucking wiped out 500 times the amount of their men and women and you took out a weapon that has destroyed whole fleets. Holy fuck, you're a ballsy hero! Glad you're on my side. Well done. I'm putting in for your promotion."

There's no it all went right so I'll let this one slip. You follow orders. That's it. If you don't you face a court martial. Holdo did the right thing. Kept a secret plan secret. Need to know basis. Poe didn't need to know. If Poe didn't do nothing everything would have gone according to plan. He had no faith in his leader because he wasn't one.

But to insinuate that what he did was detrimental to the Resistance is completely asinine and yet another example of forced feminism in this movie. What the fuck was the point of the secret?!?!?!? That's the point!

What the fuck was the point of the secret?!?!?!? That's the point! I mean, can you imagine you're in an intense firefight in WW2 and your lieutenant says, "Just stay here for a while." And then an hour later with bullets whizzing by your face, "Just keep standing here, it's okay." And then five hours later, "I want you to keep standing here and not do anything while the enemy closes in on killing you." You'd be fucking retarded not to do anything. Oh wait, there were instances like that in WW2, Vietnam and every other war since the beginning of mankind and guess what usually resulted? Some sergeant comes along and puts a bullet in that lieutenant's ear.

That's the point! You don't know Jack shit about military operations do you? In a scenario where a fleet can track you through hyperspace, what is your decision? That the fo developed a way of tracking you or someone is sending the coordinates of the next jump? What are your primary concerns? One keep the secret so if the second option is the truth you are not in jeopardy, two if the first is the truth have a backup plan but keep the secret. Duuuuuuh
