Never understood the notion that people don't joke in life and death situations. Hell even tense or anxiety filled situations. When I flipped my car into a creek I cut my scalp so wide it needed 14 staples. I had a broken leg, two ripped biceps,partially ripped costal cartilage and a hernia. The first thing I said to the doc as he was stapling my head was. "I guess the barber cut my hair a little to close" A lame joke but it did it's job. My brother and sister in law, watching their house burn to the ground told me the fire was just big enough for marshmallows. My god son was born 4 months premature and my best friend spent every waking hour either in PICU or waiting in the lounge to go there. When I would visit we joked more than normal because it relieved the tension. Cops, Medical Examiners, Soldiers, EMT, Hospice Workers, 911 operators, and every other job that deals in stress use humor to get through. (I know or have known a person for almost all of those jobs) So having people crack jokes in tension filled situations is normal. It's reality.

they never understood it at 100% but they had the better potential to do the series more justice, because fox has more creative freedom and can embrace the tone of xmen. making a disney version of xmen like we saw in homecoming will be far more damaging than what fox did. fox had slumps but they had highs. it's slumps only for disney's x-men.

One reason star wars is crashing and burning right now is because many have noticed the marvel formula was applied to the last jedi. idiotic jokes, excessive cgi action, mediocre story telling , misplaced toy placement, zero creative vision. shall I go on

the disney movies of this properties (spiderman and star wars)have been far worse and weaker than when fox and sony had them,let me ask you op. how will disney adapt a story like the mutant massacre or e is for extinction? the upcoming new mutants movie, disney cannot make that movie and from what we have seen, the movie looks very true to the comic story. not to mention a far more unique cbr for 2018 than your IW that has promised to blow up NY again.

Fox never really got their X-men right up until Deadpool and Logan. Even their most famous product, Wolverine, was completely unlike the source material. Let's be honest here, Fox never really cared much about the source material nor did they bother "understanding" the X-men. They saw a money opportunity and simply capitalized on it. 

Honestly, the source material was pretty bad at times. Few X-Men fans care about the First Class era because it sucked and got cancelled before being relaunched years later with Giant Size.

Maybe, though most comics have their ups and downs. Nevertheless, it still shows that Fox didn't really "understand" the X-men like some people claim. Majority of Fox's X-men characters didn't act, look or feel anything like the source material. Heck, they didn't even work properly as a team. So Fox fans can claim that the Fox X-men movies were good movies, and I can respect that since they're entitled to their opinion, but claiming that Fox "understood" the X-men is a whole stinking pile of horse shit. 

Funny thing was, by the end they had built up a pretty cool alien invasion storyline that was about to shake things up...then they got canceled and we never really found out how it ended.
