The 1987 b-horror film, Street Trash is about a poisonous brew that causes hobos to dissolve into liquid. It's so un-PC, over the top and vulgar that it has to be seen to be believed. I especially remember an unfortunate game of hand toss. Full movie: m.youtube.com/watch?v=mMMjubiQgLg

WALL•E had a bit of garbage in it. As did its R-rated cousin, Idiocracy. Wish Upon has a character who is a dumpster diver. Doc uses garbage at the end of Back To The Future to fuel his DeLorean.

Gee, why am I not surprised to find out the show was Australian? It even has that weird picture quality that 1990s Australian TV had. I read that the Australian networks would save costs by buying old video-tapes of obsolete formats from overseas broadcasters, which probably explains the weird picture quality....for all we know, the tapes used to record "The Ferals" may once have held now-lost episodes of "TISWAS"!

Quark, a 1977 sitcom about an intergalactic sanitation crew. It only lasted a few episodes. "collecting intergalactic garbage baggies!" as I recall the narration. There's a garbage truck scene in They Live.

The Ferals (If I remember correctly the show took place in a dump or sewer and there was always garbage in it) Gee, why am I not surprised to find out the show was Australian? It even has that weird picture quality that 1990s Australian TV had. I read that the Australian networks would save costs by buying old video-tapes of obsolete formats from overseas broadcasters, which probably explains the weird picture quality....for all we know, the tapes used to record "The Ferals" may once have held now-lost episodes of "TISWAS"! Yes. it was Australian and it was probably one of the weirdest TV shows I have ever seen which is why I never forgot about it. It had some very odd jokes in it and I remember there was an episode where the cat was throwing up on everybody and the rat ate something that was off and did a huge fart that blew him around the room and there was green gas coming out of him. I didn't know our networks did that with old tapes from overseas so thanks for letting me know about that. It is possible it could have been recorded on some missing episodes of other TV shows and I heard there were a lot of missing episodes of 'Doctor Who' and they might have used those tapes too.

On the other hand, there's also been examples where potentially lost shows have survived because the Australian and New Zealand networks showed the series and kept the "kinescope" film prints after broadcast even though they were supposed to return them after broadcast. These film prints still turn up occasionally. Some lost BBC and ITV shows also survived after being found in the archive of American network PBS (PBS, of course, has always shown a lot of UK series).

It came with the frame!! what have you got in the cellar Herr Klopek! You keep a horse in the basement! the guy's just a litterbug good solid walls, good solid floors. but don't you get it! now they know that we know that they know that we know!

Another trash film from 1903. This time, trash is being dumped into a barge. Trash-tastic.

The first thing that came to mind was the scene in Parenthood when Steve Martin and Mary Steenburgen dig through the trash at the Chuck-E-Cheese style place looking for their sons retainer.
