Normally, I'd just let this kind of thing pass and ignore it on here but I'm feeling chatty today.
Finn has no medical training, he would not know how to access her and tend any wounds. All he knows is she's bleeding from several wounds and she's unconscious. He may know enough to know he needed not to jostle her around. Also, him crouching a bit to pull her and letting her lay on her side on the makeshift sled, allowed them to be further below the radar and the shooting that was going on outside. (Which worked, no one seemed to notice them till Finn shouted for a medic) Additionally, Finn may have worried that throwing her over his shoulder would have aggravated her wounds (her head would have bobbled with every step, her weight wound have been on her abdomen with his shoulder poking into it, possibly jamming into her injuries with every step since crashing like she did could give you some internal damage in your chest/abdominal cavity. He may have, in the middle of the battle, had the presence of mind to realize letting her slide smooth and easy was the best course of action given her injuries and his lack of knowledge/ability for tending them.
So, Finn basically was smart enough and level headed enough in the heat of battle, to realize if he wanted to save Rose that he'd have to tug her along on a sled he made of broken ship parts. Then drag her across the battle field as quickly as possible (which is faster than carrying someone) to get her medical attention back at the base. All without getting them blown to bits, and if you look, he is helping them carry her when they start following the crystal foxes because he has a backboard type carrier and he has help to make sure they carry her more smoothly.

So did she crash to save Finn or because she’s a bad pilot? Maybe the Finn thing was just an excuse. She obviously isn’t a good driver.

She's Vietnamese. So that would be spring rolls, if you're going to go there.

She's Vietnamese. So that would be spring rolls, if you're going to go there. Too many banh mi and she was too heavy to carry.

Considering the fact TLJ dragged them both the entire movie, it was the least he could do.
