I really think we are winding down with the superhero movies as far as blockbusters. I think Marvel will do fine as they are just fun movies but even they are going to start seeing diminishing returns.
I based this off of nothing but my own feeling of "meh" when I hear about another superhero movie. I just think it is oversaturation.

I don't think the Black Panther's attendance will be that high unless it brings out black audiences. The lack of diversity in the cast will be one negative as well as spill over from the BLM/NFL thing.
Empty stadiums = big box office? I doubt it.
But they will make a huge media deal out of it for political reasons like they did with Get Out.
And presumably they cannot market it heavily in China. Looks like Africa is Disney's safety net this time.
Star Wars was supposed to be a more reliable brand than any other. We have already past the peak superhero point. Infinity War might perform as predicted but it requires several characters thus a special case.

Dont think we will ever see one passing 600 domestic again.

I could see Aquaman over-performing if the reviews are good. I don't know why, but I'm optimistic about it. Well for one thing, the production had been unusually quiet. Not just for the DCEU but even for a superhero movie in general.

It's really funny--I am a member of some movie and comic book related sites and ..they are hardly talkin' about Black Panther. I guess for all those white fans who flocked to see it, the best way to express their love of it is to say nothing.

Okay so domestically, Black Panther is already at $200M(!) so final tally around $375 or $400M at the domestic box office?
