When Lucas was at the height of his genius and surrounded by a supremely talented crew, it took 3 years to make each classic trilogy movie. Disney's incompetent fools are cranking them out in 2 years and the poor quality speaks for itself.

It took 3 yeart to make attack of the clones too, but i guess he was not at hte height of his genius. Maybe Disney isn't either and it isn't actually the time.

The height of Lucas' genius was of course the 70s and 80s, children. Not from an dystopian storytelling perspective. But in the end we should agree that some creative genius (in the original sense of the word) was with him, always! Whereas I am still wondering where such genius can be found in the sequels (except for money printing by rehashing and repainting).

(except for money printing by rehashing and repainting). The Special editions were milked to the freaking bone by lucas man...

Grossly besides the point, man. Creating something and then milking it is different from rehashing something and milking it. They are both great at milking though, Disney just took Luke's blue milk, pissed in it until it became green, and gave it Luke to drink again. Delish!

Rehashing: To bring forth again in another form without significant alteration. The special edition's are the epitome of rehashing. He bring forth the same shit dressed as the special edition with shit alterations no one wanted... Lucas was dead creatively since 1997 or so. TSE, TPM,AOTC, ROTS (i'll give it a pass) Indy 4 Rian johnson's Luke is the perfect characterization of george lucas that lost his way. At least Luke got a send of, Lucas got a fat check.

The number of years to make a quality film is mostly irrelevant. There are several films that spent several years, or decades, in development hell and were duds. Sometimes, a good film can be produced in a short amount of time. mcufan said it best with his statement about Attack of the Clones. Also, Star Wars: The Force Awakens went into development in 2012, and it was released in 2015. The Last Jedi went into development in 2014, and was released three years later.

Originality and ideas mean like: Seeing how the Empire grows out of the Republic like a dark side cancer, and how a demagogue and manipulates everybody's the desires to his advantage. Creativity mean world building and vehicle design. Where did you take the cat suite quote; stoned a little? And even if you don't like sand you as a MCU fan will like famously huge turds and sensitive nipples all the more. To each his own. I have the high ground. Moving on.

Basically, what I mean is the Disney clowns need to get serious, take a year or 2 more than they have been and hire people more talented than the hacks currently destroying our beloved saga. Lucas failed to hire the right people for the prequels, also.

I see what you mean, but I think there's indeed some talent behind the prequels and sequels. Just to throw some names out there like Ben Burtt (who worked on the original trilogy), John Knoll, Doug Chiang, and many others. My problem with the prequels was execution, and most of the blame goes to George Lucas. He even admitted after watching a rough cut screening of Phantom Menace that he'd "gone too far in a few places." My problem with the sequels was the lack of pre-planning and probably, gender pandering. Rian Johnson admitted that nothing was mapped out after The Force Awakens:
It feels Johnson pretty much disregarded having to answer for the ambiguity of what The Force Awakens had left us. With two films in, they have built up mysteries that didn't go anywhere. J.J. Abrams has his work cut out for him with Episode IX.

Disney's fuck up is exponentially worse in my eyes now than it already was.

This and The Force Awakens (and every other SW movies for that matter) feel like they aren't even part of the same franchise. I guess we have Disney (not Johnson) to blame for that.

But it is worse: Johnson wrote the script before he had even seen TFA (but he had the script). He asked JJ for minor changes to TFA; and Lucasfilm later asked Johnson to upgrade Rey and Finn's role in TLJ. I remember reading that JJ and Ridley praised how great the Ep 8 TLJ script was even before Ep 7 TFA was in theaters. But in their defense: They were always transparent about this modus operandi - JJ, Johnson and others said that the story was an unplanned work in progress.

If they had an actual vision to build on what came before. If they were willing to take creative risks to move the story forward and expand the Star Wars universe. But they don't. Instead, Disney prefers to play it safe and make that money. Giving them more time won't change anything of substance.
