"Working Girl" (1988) - I give it ***1/4 It's got solid plotting, humor, an attractive supporting cast (particularly Joan Cusack) and an enormously appealing Melanie Griffith in the lead role. I love Melanie in everything she is in, I love her personality and her warmth and her big heart and all her quirks, even her breathy vocal style. She has a very disarming presence, and it is Melanie alone who makes this "feel good" movie a movie that actually makes me feel good. I get teary eyed at the end when she calls up her best friend, Cynthia, with her happy news. What can I say, I am a sap.

Tell No One (2006) - French thriller starts promisingly but gets bogged down in twists, exposition and too many flashbacks. 4/10

I get teary eyed at the end when she calls up her best friend, Cynthia, with her happy news. What can I say, I am a sap. I was inspired when I first saw this film. It hit pretty much all the right spots for me. The only thing I didn't really care for is Harrison Ford. He had the star power and masculinity to balance out the girl power, but he is such a stiff stodge as well. Physically, I found him very unappealing and un-sexy. He lost his looks after the early 80's. Yeah, it is inspiring, kind of makes you feel like anything is possible. I am not a fan of Ford's. I think he is bland and super stiff. I can't detect any personality. But he was cute (though not sexy, the only time I thought he was sexy was in American Grafitti), and I guess he is okay doing super lightweight charm, and Tess seemed to like him a lot, so I wasn't too bothered by him.

Widows - 6/10
Muddled mess with pointless characters, have to wonder if even a 6 is too high

Moonrise Kingdom A Love Bruce Willis as Captain Sharp. The film feels more polished with each subsequent viewing.

Watchmen A- Snyder's abstract'ness works well here in honour of its source material & lingering arcs. Gets better with age.

Bone Tomahawk (2015) - 8/10
Slow, but incredibly well-made. Kurt Russell is cool as hell in this as well.

Now You Know B+
Fun light Kevin Smith'ish (exec producer) fare, directed by Jeff Anderson. Alas, the dvd audio is so tepid, its dialogue needs a boost to hear well.
