You can pre-order the movie on Target.com, but they are saying it won't be delivered till some time in September for the USA. THOR will be delivered the 2nd week of March, and it came out within a week of JL in theatres. Makes ya wonder if there might be some extended cuts/Snyder version, etc. type exclusives.

I would really pay to see a Snyder cut, but think it's just an urban legend.

I think at this point, the most we can hope for is that they have the Snyder-cut scenes as an "Extended & Deleted Scenes" bonus feature on the DVD release. Then it wouldn't matter so much if the music, CGI, and all weren't completed. Even some Marvel movies have had extended/deleted scenes where you could tell they weren't ever quite finished-- the first THOR movie had a scene with Loki where he changes cups to snakes to freak out a servant and another where he's standing around flaming lanterns, and you could tell the snakes and lanterns hadn't been finished, the green screen stuff hadn't all been added in, and the music seems to be generic background music that doesn't fit the scenes, and CAPTAIN AMERICA: THE FIRST AVENGER had a couple deleted/extended scenes with Bucky that had a lot of touching up that still needed done, in one I think everything except the actors had been missing and it looked like they were doing a low-budget college production of a WWII movie. I don't think fans would mind, if they can't have an actual Snyder cut, to at least get scenes that you have to figure out for yourself where they belonged and they aren't finished-product and still somewhat rough sketch. Then you could have Alfred talking to the person in the cave and all the other stuff that was in the trailer yet didn't make it to the theatrical release/cut of the film.

I’d love to see it if there is one; I had soured on Snyder after Man of Steel but was pleasantly surprised by how much he brought to Batman v Superman, which I liked very much. I’ve yet to see Justice League, but now I’m actually looking forward to it (though, to tell the truth, I’ve never liked anything Joss Whedon has done; his Much Ado adaptation was the worst bastardization of the Bard since… well, maybe ever).

Justice league is dumb fun junk food. And yeah you feel wheedon in it for good or for worse. I still liked it.

I will get around to Justice League one day…

They should call it unwatchable edition. YES!!! Call for a Whedon cut with no time limitation and an actual budget to fix the mustache... But why would anyone want a Snyder cut?

I must confess that I didn’t see Schopenhauer in BvS (I definitely saw Nietzsche and traces of Wagner), though I’m sure I missed something. If I may ask, was it voluntarism, or…?

If I may ask, was it voluntarism, or…? yes, Nietsche (and more so Wagner) would not be complete without him. Schopenhauers metaphysical voluntarism in there - the blind irrational (world)-will (Weltwille) of the characters to form their realities (the world is created by my imagination), subordinating even reason - and the pessimism this results in. Eat or be eaten (Schoppenhauer anticipated social Darwinism in a way) as primal rule vs selflessness and compassion; even Superman's sacrifice/suicide is futile: The world-will (Weltwille) will immediately create a new incarnation. Sure there are some in depth analysis on these aspects.

Sure there are some in depth analysis on these aspects. For me, I was never opposed to Snyder's delving into the darker aspects. But I felt he focused TOO MUCH on these aspects. Plus he's a pretty crappy long form storyteller. A hint of Ennui from Superman is an interesting thing. A certain welcoming of death from Batman is an interesting thing. But Superman never actually saving people while dressed as Superman does not make for a good Superman movie. Batman driving off in a literal kamikaze run against Parademons does not make for a good superhero movie. Batman being willing to die? Sure. Batman thinking he SHOULD die? Not. (This is from the rumor that Batman was suicidal in the original script) So having a dark scene like the fight against Superman post-resurrection was cool...but Snyder would have extended the themes and tone from that throughout the entire thing and that would have smothered it.

I have a general, not very in-depth knowledge of Schopenhauer, which is probably why I didn’t exactly see how the Weltwille factored in. I take it, from your comments, that you enjoyed BvS as well? A surprisingly satisfying and thought-provoking movie.

A surprisingly satisfying and thought-provoking movie. well, whatever it is, it was definitely written by people who wanted to tackle certain themes and notions raised by the said philosophers and composers, you don't throw in lines like "I figured out way back if God is all-powerful, He cannot be all good. And if He is all good, then He cannot be all-powerful".
This makes it an interesting and fascinating watch for me, especially the in long cut version. Saw it 3 times and while I see the structural and narrative flaws it remains intriguing as a piece of authorship (and really beautiful cinematography) in a genre reigned by formulaic conveyer-belt fast food.
