Remember when Green Lantern was supposed to launch the connected cinematic universe of DC but they thought it wasn't good enough to do so? Was it really that bad compared to the rest of the DCEU? Where would you rank it in comparison to other DCEU movies?

It's nowhere near as good as Wonder Woman or Man of Steel. I liked it more than Suicide Squad, but there is some ambition and good ideas in Batman v Superman that elevate it more over Green Lantern. I haven't seen Justice League yet.
What Green Lantern does better than some of the DCEU films is not try to be brooding and dark. As an origin story, it was faithful to the comics, but it was handled with lackluster writing that comes off bland and cliché. Ryan Reynolds was well-cast as Hal Jordan, and he had great chemistry with Blake Lively. However, making the Green Lantern suit CGI was a poor choice, and the visual effects aren't as great as they should have been. There wasn't a lot of action in it either.
As much as I don't like Zack Synder, he's better at visuals, although he goes overboard with it. The writing is more or less the same. There's dumb dialogue every once in a while in these movies, but it tends to be convoluted for its own good as in Batman v Superman and Suicide Squad or was not faithful to the spirit of the characters as in Man of Steel.
My ranking would be: Wonder Woman Man of Steel Batman v Superman: Dawn of Justice Green Lantern Suicide Squad

Very low. It's perhaps a sign of things to come later with 'Batman versus Superman' as far as kitchen-sink storytelling goes.

Ummm below them all.
While I am greatly disappointed in JL, and SS isn't that good, they both have moments when I can say "that was pretty damn cool," but with GL.....I can't find a moment, from the story, to designs, actors, action scenes, etc. None of it works for me.

Probably the best DC movie of the decade after Wonder Woman

It would've been better if they hadn't blown so much money on the CGI suit.

It would've been better if they hadn't blown so much money on the CGI suit. $200M budget and they went full CG. Apparently, director Martin Campbell-who's certainly not a bad filmmaker-was uncomfortable with the heavy emphasis on visual effects. My suspicion is the studio took the wheel since they did $9M worth of reshoots later. Again, perhaps a prophetic sign of things to come.

I rank them like this: WW MOS JL Green Lantern BvS SS I don't know if it was the movie or the situation how I watched the movie, but MOS I had a bad reaction to it the first time. The situation middle of June in SC. Midsized theater at 85% capacity. And the AC went out during the previews. God I was running for the door by the end. I've seen it since and liked it better, but I don't know if that initial viewing has tainted it for me. I'd go close to yours but move MOS down. WW JL Green Lantern MOS BVS SS With MOS being at the 5-6 range. GL being 6-6.5 range. JL 6.5-7 and WW a solid 8.

The only saving grace of MOS was the good action. The pacing was just plain dragging.

There are 2 things that put BvS higher on my list than SS: Wonder Woman and the warehouse fight. Wonder Woman was the best thing in BvS IMO, and SS had nothing to compare to her. Not Deadshot and not Harley. They also had no fight scene even remotely close to the warehouse fight. And as much as I hated Doomsday and Lex, they weren't as bad as the Sorceress.

BvS is so bereft of joy and so nihilistic that it's grating. The warehouse scene was great, but I'd like it more with one small change. I like a Batman that is so Ninja-like that he can hurt you to the point of you almost dying but just shy. I know that would be hard to do visually. Him throwing a crate and crushing a dudes head doesn't show that. I know it's been complained about it to death, but I like the fact that Batman is so badass he knows 1000 ways to almost kill you but keep you alive. Batman was more like Red Hood in BvS and I know he lost his way. I think BvS's Batman would've been better served if we actually had a Batman movie showing him going down the dark path after Robin. That's just me. There are other problems with BvS other than that with Batman, but they've been done to death. No reason to harp on it. SS like I said was a cluster fuck, but there were moments. It's like yeah they could've made a decent to good movie here, but just fell short almost every time. You're right there is no equivalent to the warehouse scene so yeah most of the time it's last for me. If I catch BvS somewhere randomly I get just depressed. With SS it's just a feeling of meh. So that's probably why I flip flop.

Above Suicide Squad for me. The Room is a more aptly made movie than SS, let alone it's incredibly funny (albeit unintentional)
I don't mind watching GL, but i would never watch SS again

Somewhere in the middle for me. I wrote some comments on it around here… Oh, yes:
Of everything based on DC characters that I’ve seen, I’d say…
1. Superman (1978—can’t really better this choice)
2. Batman Returns (1992)
3. Superman Returns (2006)
4. Batman v Superman (2016)
5. Wonder Woman (2017)
6. Batman (1989)
7. Batman (1966)
8. Batman Begins (2005)
9. The Dark Knight Rises (2012)
10. Superman II (1980)
11. Supergirl (1984)
12. Batman & Robin (1997)
13. The Dark Knight (2008)
14. Green Lantern (2011)
15. Man of Steel (2013)
16. Batman Forever (1995)
17. Catwoman (2004)
18. Superman III (1983)
19. Superman IV (1987)
*Whew. I should note that I’ve tried to combine the “favorite” and “best” criteria, not altogether successfully: I enjoyed Green Lantern more than The Dark Knight, but I recognize the evident hard work both in front of and behind the camera in the latter.
