Forget ‘Ocean’s 15 ’The biggest female team series of all time is FINALLY going to be hitting the big screen.
Batgirl, Black Canary, the Huntress, Strix, Lady Blackhawk, Starling, Katana, Misfit etc are set to take the place of ‘Gotham City Sirens’ which appears to be pushed back and will be one of the upcoming movies with Margot Robbie as Harley Quinn. While I wouldn’t mind seeing ‘Gotham City Sirens’ it was a mistake to have it set to come out before ‘Birds of Prey’ who are the biggest selling female team series of all time and ‘Birds of Prey’ could easily merge the 2 movies together and have Harley Quinn, Catwoman and Poison Ivy with the additions of Lady Shiva and Nocturna as the main villains of the movie as others have suggested. With ‘Birds of Prey’ coming up it looks like the rumours of Black Canary debuting in ‘Batgirl’ are true and much like the Gail Simone series ‘Batgirl’ is being based on which connected on to ‘Birds of Prey’ ‘Batgirl’ will most likely set up ‘Birds of Prey.’
If there is a female superhero movie that is going to beat ‘Wonder Woman’ it is this one. A proper adaption of ‘Birds of Prey’ is long, long, long overdue and I know far more people that have been wanting to see ‘Birds of Prey’ than ‘Wonder Woman.’ With the right actresses and writers this could be HUGE.

Harley Quinn to Return in Birds of Prey Before Suicide Squad 2?
For DCEU fans wondering when they'll see Harley Quinn next, it may be in Warner Bros.' Birds of Prey movie, one of three potential projects that will feature Margot Robbie. While we haven't heard much on that particular spin-off in quite some time, Christina Hodson (Bumblebee) was brought on to write the script back in 2016. A new report claims that Margot Robbie has taken a personal interest in Birds of Prey, which will reportedly feature multiple heroes and villains within the DC universe. Although it's possible that Suicide Squad 2 may be happening first, since there is already a director attached, and some of the cast are already training to return. The third project that's in the mix is Joker vs. Harley Quinn.
What's interesting is this report doesn't mention Gotham City Sirens, which already has director David Ayer attached, although there hasn't been much movement on that project thus far. David Ayer confirmed in December that the project was still in development, but it remains to be seen when that project will go into production. Margot Robbie confirmed in a December interview that there are several DC movies in the works featuring her Harley Quinn, including a solo Harley Quinn project, and keeping track of all of these projects has been quite confusing. It was believed that Gotham City Sirens was the new title of the Birds of Prey project, but now it seems they're two separate projects altogether.
This report also claims that, ever since landing the Harley Quinn role in the first Suicide Squad movie, Margot Robbie has become a DC Comics "expert", which is reportedly why she has taken such an interest in this Birds of Prey movie, although there is no indication on what other DC heroes and/or villains will be featured in the story. What's interesting is Harley Quinn was never an official member of the Birds of Prey in the comics, but she was part of the short-lived animated Birds of Prey TV series. In the comics, Harley Quinn was a member of The Secret Six, along with Catman, Deadshot, Ragdoll, Scandal Savage and Knockout, who act as foils to the Birds on one shared mission.
As for Suicide Squad 2, this report indicates production could start this fall, after Will Smith wraps on his new movie Gemini Man, and that this could serve as the introduction to Dwayne Johnson's Black Adam. The actor has hinted numerous times that his character would get a "secret introduction" into the DCEU, that will help set up his solo Black Adam film. The Suicide Squad 2 story reportedly brings the Task Force X team back together to stop a powerful weapon of mass destruction, which is reportedly Black Adam. Gavin O'Connor (Warrior) has been set to write and direct Suicide Squad 2, with Charles Roven producing alongside DCEU newcomer Mike DeLuca.
The third project mentioned in this report from The Wrap is Joker Vs. Harley Quinn, which is a love story in the same vein as the 2005 action movie Mr. and Mrs. Smith, except with Joker and Harley Quinn. John Requa and Glenn Ficarra are expected to write and direct that film, although when it will be actually ready for production remains to be seen. While it may be quite some time before we know for sure which Harley Quinn project is moving forward first, there will be no shortage of this character anytime soon.

All Those Possible Harley Quinn Projects Have Reportedly Been Narrowed Down to Three
It’s no secret that DC and Warner Bros. have been trying to figure out where to go next with Margot Robbie’s Harley Quinn. One of the breakout characters from Suicide Squad, this version of Harley Quinn inspired cosplays and costumes across the globe. Given this, combined with the character’s existing popularity, it’s unsurprising that DC wants to continue featuring her.
According to unnamed “insider sources” who spoke with The Wrap (so, grain of salt here), DC and Warner Bros. have zeroed in on three possible live-action Harley Quinn projects: the Suicide Squad sequel, a Birds of Prey movie, and the Joker/Harley film. (The other animated projects, as far as we know, are still a go.)
Birds of Prey is reportedly the project that Robbie herself has taken the most interest in. “Insiders say Robbie has become something of a DC Comics expert since joining Suicide Squad,” writes The Wrap, “and has taken an interest in Birds of Prey.” Screenwriter Christina Hodson (Bumblebee) is reportedly working on the script.
Suicide Squad 2, however, may be the most likely project to happen, given the box office returns on the first film. According to The Wrap’s sources, there’s a second reason: “The film may serve as Dwayne ‘The Rock’ Johnson’s introduction to the DC Universe as the super-villain Black Adam … The current plan for the sequel is for the members of Suicide Squad to be tasked with tracking down a weapon of mass destruction. That weapon? Black Adam himself.” Gavin O’Connor is supposed to script this one.
The third option, the Harley/Joker film, is reportedly “a love story between the two iconic supervillains in the vein of Mr. and Mrs. Smith.” Glenn Ficarra and John Requa, the directors of Crazy, Stupid Love, would write and direct. Can we not? Unless, like, Harley kills Joker at the end of the film and rides off into the sunset?
What’s most interesting about this list is the absence of David Ayer’s Gotham City Sirens film. As of December, Ayer said the film was still in development, so it’s possible that The Wrap’s sources mixed the two movies up, or that the two films have been combined, or that Sirens has simply been dropped in favor of Birds of Prey. Ayer will reportedly return for the sequel to Netflix’s Bright, so his schedule may be too full to accommodate Gotham City Sirens, or Warner Bros. may have just lost interest in the project. Perhaps they see Birds of Prey as the better opportunity to introduce some female heroes along with female villains.
What do you think? Which one should be Margot Robbie’s next outing as Harley Quinn? And which one actually will be?

'Gotham City Sirens' Officially Dead? WB Reportedly Wants to Focus on 'Birds of Prey'
The studio is reportedly working on three DC movies that feature Margot Robbie as Harley Quinn, and David Ayer's 'Gotham City Sirens' is not among them.
Is "Gotham City Sirens" not happening after all? The planned "Suicide Squad" spin-off, which has David Ayer attached as director, is now in limbo as Warner Bros. is reportedly working on three DC movies that feature Margot Robbie as Harley Quinn, and "Gotham City Sirens" is not among them.
The first movie the studio is developing is the most obvious, "Suicide Squad 2", which is expected to go into production later this year and be released sometime in 2019. Some rumored returning cast members in the "Suicide Squad" sequel, which will find the titular anti-hero team being sent towards another mission following their fight against the seemingly unstoppable Enchantress (Cara Delevingne), appear to be already training for it.
The next is "Birds of Prey", according to TheWrap. Christina Hodson, the scribe of "Transformers" spin-off "Bumblebee", is attached to pen the screenplay. And it is very likely that this project is the new, completely separate movie featuring Harley Quinn and her girl friends that Margot Robbie recently announced she was working on. The Aussie actress is apparently a big fan of the "Birds of Prey" comics. The film reportedly will feature Batgirl, too.
Finally, the untitled Joker and Harley Quinn project is still in the works, with Robbie and Jared Leto reprising their roles as the crazed lovebirds. It was reported last year that the studio was in talks with Glenn Ficarra and John Requa to write and direct, but it's unclear if a deal is closed just yet. Robbie has worked with the filmmaking duo, on 2015's "Focus" co-starring Will Smith and 2016's "Whiskey Tango Foxtrot".
Meanwhile, with "Gotham City Sirens" being on hold, David Ayer can focus on Netflix's sequel to last year's sci-fi, action film "Bright" starring Will Smith and Joel Edgerton. Despite the first film being largely panned by critics, the streaming giant confirmed earlier this month that they're making "Bright 2", with Smith reprising his role as LAPD officer Daryl Ward while Edgerton returning as his Orc partner, Nick Jacoby. Original screenwriter Max Landis will not return for the sequel, so Ayer will be taking over the scripting duties.
