Sorry about that. You may not have been around to see the massive off topic conflict that it became so rather than delete the vast majority of posts in the thread, I deleted it. LOL at all the jealous MCU fans who think it was a disaster. The Academy has never nominated a superhero movie for its top award so it was always going to be an uphill battle for Wonder Woman to become the 1st superhero movie to get that nomination. But Wonder Woman did get nominated by the PGA for Best Theatrical Motion Picture. Given the fact that there have been over 70 superhero movies (including 17 MCU movies) since Superman: The Movie in 1978 and Wonder Woman is only the 3rd superhero movie (after The Dark Knight and Deadpool) to get nominated by the PGA for Best Theatrical Motion Picture, that's an amazing accomplishment that few movies (and no MCU movie) have ever been able to do. Wonder Woman exceeded all expectations at the box office, is ranked #1 on RT's list of Best Superhero Movies of All Time, and was nominated by the PGA for Best Theatrical Motion Picture. An Oscar nomination for Best Picture would've just been icing on the cake. But given all that Wonder Woman has already accomplished (especially after the mudslinging campaign by MCU fans trying to derail Wonder Woman by spreading the false rumor prior to release that the movie was "a complete mess"), the cake is still pretty sweet. And MCU fans should be thanking WB for making Wonder Woman. If WB hadn't announced a Wonder Woman movie in 2014, then MCU would've never made a Captain Marvel movie. And if Wonder Woman hadn't been such a huge success, then MCU would never make a Black Widow movie. Good to see you come out from hiding buddy, not been the same the last few days without you, nice too see your humiliation hasn't altered your warped world perspective either.
Also seeing how you just got proven so blatantly wrong and full of shit you should dial back the attitude, it was afterall your arrogant peacocking about WW and it's "strong" chances at best picture that has made it getting no noms at all such rich ground to take the piss with, a little humility and less toss pottery and more peoples reaction to the lack of any nominations at all would likely be in support of WW and not poking fun at it, you brought it on yourself and the film you rambunctious rapscallion you.

If it weren't for the MCU, WB never would have made WW.

And if Wonder Woman hadn't been such a huge success, then MCU would never make a Black Widow movie. Possibly but at the same time, had it not been due to the success of the MCU then WB would not have made a DCEU and a Wonder Woman movie likely still wouldn't have been made. So the industry helps itself.

Also, WB was going to make a Wonder Woman movie in 2006 before MCU, but Joss Whedon's script was awful. So WB would've made a Wonder Woman movie even without MCU.

No, CBMs would exist without Superman the Movie. And DC never would've had the balls to okay any WW movie without the MCU paving the way for them, I mean DC botched up the female hero genre more than anyone else with Supergirl and Catwoman.

1st, Star Wars has nothing to do with the making of Superman: The Movie.
2nd, it's a known fact that Superman: The Movie was greenlit for Production BEFORE Star Wars was even released. In fact, it was a newspaper article that came out BEFORE Star Wars was even released reporting that there would be a Superman movie and Marlon Brando would be in it that resulted in Jerry Siegal and Joe Shuster filing a lawsuit against WB to try to get a claim of the profits for Superman: The Movie. WB agreed to pay Siegal and Shuster a lifetime pension and also invited them to attend the world premiere of Superman: The Movie.

Oh I'm sure the movie would have been made, but it wouldn't have been what it was. You know they pumped more money into Superman. Also, John Williams doing the soundtrack. Superman: The Movie would have been a totally different movie than what we got.

And had it not been for X-Men being a hit maybe the superhero genre would never have got a resurgence after DC almost killed it dead with Batman & Robin.
Do you see the difference between my statement and yours? I am not stating it as fact because it's not fact it's hypothetical as there is no way to know for sure, most likely we would have still got other CBM's regardless but the landscape would have been different.
A more fair statement is actually without Batman 89 we likely wouldn't have anymore big budget CBM's, because whilst Batman Returns and subsequent films in the genre actually increased their budgets and such the Superman sequels actually saw their budgets get dropped, and by the time Batman 89 came out the Superman franchise had itself tarnished the CBM genre due to the poor treatment of the property by the studios, so Superman the movie kind of becomes a meaningless entry in terms of without this you wouldn't get this argument.

WB/DC wish they were the MCU so badly, it has become embarrassing. Sadly, they don't have one of the main ingredients necessary to assist in achieving their dreams - PATIENCE.
