Let's all pay tribute to the enduringly hilarious, and very quotable, spoof "Airplane!".
Surely you can't be serious. I am serious. And don't call me Shirley.

" The Shit's Going To Hit The Fan!" "There's A Sale At Penney's!" Isn't there always? " The Tower? The Tower? Rapunzel! Rapunzel!"

All of these quotes from Airplane! are hysterical. My personal favorite is; "Pardon me stewardess, I speak jive."

Rex Kramer: [talking on the phone to the airport control tower] "No, we can't do that, the risk of a flame-out is too great. Keep 'em at 24,000. No, feet."
And the dog scene...

insert code here It is enduringly hilarious, but it's also a little sad to think that anyone under the age of about 50 who sees this movie missed out on the full comedic impact the movie had on its initial release, such as seeing longtime serious dramatic actors Leslie Nielsen, Lloyd Bridges, and Robert Stack in such silly roles, and getting the cultural references of the time. And I think more of the audience of that era had grown up on MAD magazine and its wonderful movie parodies, of which Airplane! was a faithful adaptation.

We regret any inconvenience the sudden cabin movement might have caused, this is due to periodic air pockets we encountered, there's no reason to become alarmed, and we hope you enjoy the rest of your flight...
By the way, is there anyone on board who knows how to fly a plane?
