EDIT: Yes, I know not all people who don't like the new SW movies are pathetic MRA's, and may have legitimate reasons why they don't like them other than "SJW, Feminazi, blah blah blah!!!", but the MRA's are the most annoying.

Also the TCW series had a black woman (Saw's sister Sheela) lead an early rebellion pocket against the Seperatists (Onderon arc in Season 5).
Not to forget, our Lord Lucas is married to a black woman, as is Han Solo in the current EU, and yours truly has an insanly hot black GF too. So there is nothing wrong with it from a Star Wars nerd perspective as long as she is not written as a black Mary Sue fanfic character.

Nice. She have an Aussie accent? Aussie, goodness nope, Swahili with a slant of Brit it is. Works pretty well. 
I may be beating a dead kangaroo, but you might consider relocating my bearings altogether. It would be very awkward and anti-cimactic if - when the days comes - you actually showed up on the wrong continent for our final prequelist vs prequel-hater showdown, really.

The few black women in Star Wars have such tiny roles, it's easy to forget them. Plus, Lupita Nyong'o and Femi Taylor both played aliens.   I haven't seen Thandie's character yet in anything related to Solo... I don't think. I'm certainly not holding my breath to see a black woman play the female lead, especially a dark-skinned one. Hollywood prefers light-skinned and bi-racial ones, like Thandie Newton, Tessa Thompson and Zendaya.    I'm definitely not against casting light-skinned and bi-racial black actresses. I just want to see the full rainbow of black beauty to get the same type of attention. A Hollywood blockbuster literally has to take place in Africa in order to give dark-skinned black women respect.  |
