Sounds a bit like they're going for the tone of Spider-Man: Homecoming. Which, if Superman does appear, wouldn't be a bad influence. TEXT: We all have a superhero inside us, it just takes a bit of magic to bring it out. In Billy Batson’s (Angel) case, by shouting out one word—SHAZAM!—this streetwise 14-year-old foster kid can turn into the adult Super Hero Shazam (Levi), courtesy of an ancient wizard. Still a kid at heart—inside a ripped, godlike body—Shazam revels in this adult version of himself by doing what any teen would do with superpowers: have fun with them! Can he fly? Does he have X-ray vision? Can he shoot lightning out of his hands? Can he skip his social studies test? Shazam sets out to test the limits of his abilities with the joyful recklessness of a child. But he’ll need to master these powers quickly in order to fight the deadly forces of evil controlled by Dr. Thaddeus Sivana (Strong). www.inverse.com/article/40993-shazam-dc-extended-universe-justice-league

Not too crazy about Billy being a teenager. It kind of makes the movie seem less original.

The original Adventures of Captain Marvel was great. Tom Tyler can't be topped (even though he seems to be closer to the early Superman).

Not too crazy about Billy being a teenager. It kind of makes the movie seem less original. Less original from what? Less original compared to making him an actual kid. We’ve already had teenage superheroes in films like X-Men: Apocalypse, Power Rangers, and of course, Spider-Man: Homecoming.

We've also had adult heroes in everything else. Also, what's the point of changing the character to being an adult that changes into an adult? The point of the character is wish fulfillment. If you want an adult with Superman-like powers watch a Superman movie.

I said it would probably be better if he were an actual kid, instead of a teenager. My bad. So use to the "He should be an adult" argument going around. Looking at the kid, they might play him younger than he is (15). Or they might be going with an age where he won't get in too much trouble for sneaking away.
