I would have the White Martians responsible for the near-extermination of the Green Martians, established in either a flashback or the prologue. Then set him up as a character similar to Clint Eastwood's protagonists in the 'Man With No Name' movies (obviously not as nihilistic or cynical), where he's a traveler encountering other alien characters and fights injustice wherever he ventures. I think maybe I'd use Despero or Mongul as the villain. Add a post-credit scene where Green Lantern invites him to join the Justice League.

I think they will make a 'Martian Manhunter' movie along with Supergirl, Green Arrow and Teen Titans when they have finished making all the other movies that have been announced but at the moment it looks like there is more of a chance of a 'Martian Manhunter' spinoff show from 'Supergirl' happening on the CW Network. They have said there are plans for a spinoff of 'The Legion of Superheroes' and I think Martian Manhunter is the most likely character who will get one after them and they will have him move to another city where he is Detective John Johns. There was supposed to be a Martian Manhunter spinoff show from 'Smallville' but it sadly didn't happen.

he should be Martian for once and really hunt men like in the comics. I get tired of all that watered down stuff.

I had an idea a while back that the Deadshot we see in Suicide Squad is actually Martian Manhunter. All the flashbacks, and moments with his daughter, are in his head. Have it that MM tried to stop Floyd and got a psychic backlash. After that he subconsciously shape-shifted into Deadshot with his usual human face (that of Will Smith) and believed he was Deadshot.

I think they should focus on the Matt Reeves Batman and Joker movie first
