walt
can i call you walt? we seem like such close friends. i know i'm only half your age but just this once we can pretend.
it's back in 1955, the dust amidst the trees. as you topped off adventureland i sprang out beneath mom’s knees.
what you must have felt to dream aloud in characters so bright. so filled with hope and wonderment as prince charming met snow white.
you knew the world was waiting for a place where dreams come true. you knew that i'd be there one day as your kingdom and i both grew.
and so it was that faithful day, i tumbled down main street. as you were watching over me from your firehouse front row seat.
did you see me wink and wave at you? my mom and dad just laughed. why disney isn't at his park he's off counting out his cash. but i knew better then and now for i still see you there, amidst the miles of endless smiles of folks who come to share.
the magic of just one man's heart, the dreams of those fulfilled. who wander in and out your park, whose laughter cures all ills.
o walt, i see you standing there atop the matterhorn. my heart is right there next to you as if it were newborn.
so take our dreams they're your dreams too and reinvent the stars! your magic kingdom symphony is the music in all our hearts.
