Just got home from seeing it. It was a really good movie once again, I was unsure how genuine the reviews would be considering the nature of the movie but like Wonder Woman yes it really does warrant the good reviews.
Visually it's up there, if not better even than Thor Ragnarok. The locations and set designs were all top notch, with all the colourful and unique costumes as well it was vibrant and impressive looking. Unfortunately you don't get to see a whole lot of Wakanda's city from the streets.
Some of you might be happy to know there isn't nearly as much humour in this movie, it mainly comes from T'challas sister. A couple jokes here and there are a bit forced but it's not as bad nor nearly as excessive as most MCU movies. It's more along the lines of Winter Soldier for being one of the more serious ones.
The villain was also one of the better ones, I'd still say Loki was the best but he's up there on the level of Michael Keaton as Vulture or better perhaps. Killmonger actually does have a character to him, he has a backstory and that makes him interesting.
There's some here who say that the MCU don't want the hero to overshadow the villain which just seems like a way to excuse the weak villains they've had but this movie proves it doesn't have to be that way at all you can have both a good hero and villain. Between last year's Ego, Vulture and now Killmonger they might be turning this flaw around some.
It was action packed, it's not the best action in a MCU probably. The scene in Korea being the best one. There were two fights between the hero and the villain, one without and one with the suits of which the former was actually better. Once again the final fight was not that great but it will do.
Also the soundtrack was better than the norm probably because it wasn't so generic being largely inspired by African music.
I don't have too much bad to say about it really except I'm too much of a fan of the whole purple vs gold Black Panthers bit but it did at least make sense in the story.
I'd give it an 8/10. On the same level as Thor Ragnarok but where that was highly humourous this one is a lot more serious.

These are spoilerish questions so look away Is it true BP doesn’t fight many goons, like guys who aren’t the two big bad guys?
Is there any hope that he’s finished with that purple shit for future films?

Is there any hope that he’s finished with that purple shit for future films? 1. I wouldn't have said so necessarily, not to the point where I noticed anyway. He fights some goons at the start of the movie at night in a jungle, he takes out a few guys in a car chase sequence in Korea and he also fights against a bunch of other Wakandan warriors towards the end of the movie.
2. There wasn't anything specific said that would stop it from being in the next movie. However seeing as it was clearly only done to separate the two Black Panthers and that he also didn't have the purple glow when he was shown in the Infinity War trailer then we probably won't see it again.
