I was so excited to finally meet someone from Japan. The guy had that typical Japanese looks that I have seen in Japanese movies. So we discussed a few things and then I talked about Japanese movies. The guy was happy to know that I like Japanese movies. But when I mentioned about Sanso Dayu, he hasn't heard of it. He hasn't heard of Harakiri either. Not even Narayama Bushiko. Finally, I mentioned Kurosawa and he knew him but the guy has not seen any of his movies. WTF...What an anticlimax. All my interest declined right then.

Yeah man people usually have bad taste when it comes to their own country's films or just oblivious to them. Same happened with me and a Korean friend.

For all we know, he was talking about Kiyoshi Kurosawa.

For all we know, he was talking about Kiyoshi Kurosawa. LOl. I have always been fascinated by Japan. I would even have suggested him to watch a few movies together but the dude said that he likes American movies. Anyway, he is just for 3 weeks. He is here working at some restaurant and he is on tourist visa. WTF. After 3 weeks the Pakistani flatmate will return (who went to Pakistan for his marriage) and then at least I can go to some Pakistani restaurant to eat and may be show him some dialogues of Betaaj baadshah..
