I saw the preview, but it's hard to tell what to expect from that. Is this the one where Parker Posey plays a female Doctor Smith?

The pain, the pain.
Well I like her, so would be interested to see what she does with the character.

I actually enjoyed the movie Lost In Space(1997), aside from the creepy daughter I did, too. Enough to buy the blu ray. I'm not a huge fan of the original show. The early episodes were decent but at some point they decided to become a cartoon. Parker Posey? Time to order Netflix.

Bill Mumy should be cast as the Robot.

Usually I do not like remakes, but I was never a fan of the original so this could be something I really enjoy. I love the premise of the series

Interesting. This is the first I hear about it. I will definitely be watching the first few episodes at least, as a fan of science fiction.
*** EDIT ***
I just saw that Molly Parker is in it! Now I will definitely be watching the whole thing!

Very good show! First episode a little slow and we get flashbacks (fortunately very brief ones) to help fill in gaps but I am really enjoying it so far.
Great production and visuals.
I am 3 episodes in and I would give it a solid 8/10.

Yes , the whole of Season 1 is on Netflix . Each episode is around an hour in length . The series is rated M , but is very close to a PG rating , that is mature family viewing . I'm sure some fans will say it is generic , but it is a little like comparing Glen Larson's original Battlestar Galactica (1978) with Ron Moore's 2004 Battlestar Galactica reboot.. there's little relationship between them .
The production standard is 2017_18 , and can be watched in UHD 4K , if you have the cable connection and Tv for that . I seem to be getting blu-ray standard .
so , the Series is a little like The Expanse , but with massive vistas . The production standards are better than average overall , and there is a good connect between the actors , who are a mix of known experienced actors and talented youngsters .
I haven't seen the entirety yet , but it is turning into a very watchable series , and just like the Original hopefully an extended one , for me !

I am 3 episodes in and I would give it a solid 8/10. Agree to disagree. I thought it was stupidly written and amateurish. And I wanted to like it so bad. I like it a lot. It's not the smartest tv but nowhere near the worst and I would never call it 'stupid' and about as beautiful a tv show as we'll see. With each episode another piece of the puzzle falls into place. A story about survival against the odds is something I've always liked. Solid cast. I have no real complaints, other than the eels were a bit, just a bit, too much. And one too many flashbacks of Judy's ice adventure. The robot is well done, too. This is a solid show so far and lots of room to grow.

I've watched the first three episodes and so far the only thing that's impressed me was the scenery but I'm going to continue to watch hoping it will get better.

None of the main characters bother me too much. The robot is real cool.

I don't like the cast. I turned off the first episode after 20 minutes.

OK, I finally finished the first season. I am a huge fan of the original show but I will not complain about changes that I don't agree with (there are lots of those). I will judge this show on it's own merits.
Pros: I like that it is rated PG. Nothing wrong with a netflix scifi show the whole family can enjoy The SFX are good I like the design of the Jupiter 2 and all the tech I really like the cast The scenery is spectacular Overall, I liked the story I like that the characters are complex, not all idiots or badguys. Evan Dr. Smith, who is very bad, has sympathetic moments.
Cons: A little too much reliance on flash backs Some of the life or death situations were a bit over the top (as is common in shows these days) (they would all have debilitating PTSD by now) The pacing was a little too fast A little too much family drama
Overall I really like the show. I give it a strong 8/10!

I am a huge fan of the original. I used to watch the reruns everyday after I got home from school. With this one though there are two things that I can't seem to get over. It has had a serious impact on my enjoyment of the show. I am 3 ep in and I just don't care to continue.
They are:
1. Judy is black and is not John Robinson's biological daughter as she is in the original.
2. Dr. Smith is a woman and that seriously changes the dynamic of the relationship with Will Robinson which was a huge part of the original.
