Buddhism
It has a Bu 'dd' instead of a 'tt' at the beginning.

Buddhism It has a Bu 'dd' instead of a 'tt' at the beginning. Good point. The last thing we want is a religion where the first syllable is "Butt."

The only Buddhists I've ever met are American or European recent converts without a long tradition of Buddhism, and I have never met any Jains as far as I know.
Was Alexej on the old board a disciplined Buddhist?
There might be as many different kinds of Buddhists as there are different kinds of "Christians." Okay probably not that many, but several anyway.
From what little I've read Jainism seems more like a religion for people whose occupation is religion, Buddhism seems more like a religion for people who have some other occupation.

Having had a number of posts with him, he waxed and waned in his Buddhism. POF there were times he did not want me to address him as Fr. yet he wanted the respect that he felt was owed to him as a priest. He knows that in the Roman Catholic Church once you are ordained as a priest, that sacrament is forever.
