Do we really need it to take up the bulk of the plot as the 2011 film did, or can we do with a prologue or hell, a Star Wars styled text scroll. I was just thinking about it. For better or worse, the 2011 film did introduce people to the idea of the Green Lantern character and the set-up and everything. It bungled it like hell of course, but I think if they just carry on (with John Stewart as the new lead and Hal Jordan in a mentor role as rumored) I think they'd be fine.

Green Lanterns origin should be a subplot in Justice League 2.
It would’ve been cool if we got a post credit scene in JL seeing Abin Sur locked in a cell on Apokolips after seeing Steppenwolf killed by Darkseid. JL 2 opening would be Mister Miracle breaking Abin Sur out and head to Earth before Darkseid arrives. Mind you,. The films focus villains would be the Injustice League/Legion of Doom.

Take a lesson from Incredible Hulk and Spider-Man Homecoming. Don't make the same mistake Amazing Spider-Man made.

No they don't need to drag his origin out again.
I think origin stories in general can be done away with.

At this stage in the game, with solo movies already released for Spider-Man, Batman, Iron Man, Superman, Wonder Woman, hell the Guardians of the Galaxy now available, I think it can be laid to rest for a while. |
