... but a different kind of story without superheroes. Via Screen Rant:
"...As he said via his Twitter account on Friday, Vogt-Roberts says he wants to direct “a Marvel movie that features no superheroes.” He described his idea for a premise as “an absurdist dramedy” about “a group of random humans” who have to grapple with the fact that “magic and aliens exist.” Such an idea would almost certainly have to exist as a standalone film separate from the MCU, which is filled with actual superheroes in all of the movies and most of its TV programming."

How is it a Marvel movie if it has nothing to do with Marvel characters?

He's basically asking to direct Marvels.

Not a terrible idea. The MCU would be the backdrop and we would see how the average person lives in a world like that. Could be a small budget thing that would enhance the regular MCU movies.

He's basically asking to direct Marvels. Wouldn't be a bad idea, honestly. With so much of the current lineup of films being about setting up the future of the MCU, a film set in the past wouldn't hurt.

When would it be set? It has to be during a movie or 2. If it didn't they'd have to try to fit in some background conflicts that has to fit into the rest of the MCU. And what would be the thing that ends the movie? Is it like a zombie movie where the protagonists has to make it to a safe zone during an Avengers super battle? Only thing I can picture is something like Bushwick.

Probably. Hence the small budget. I think it's an opportunity for Marvel to branch out a bit. Not everything has to be a big budget blockbuster that requires a huge box office to make sense. Why not a few films that would work with a smaller audience?
