Pierce’s plan was good. Zola’s algorithm may have targeted and then killed Zemo before he had a chance to frame Bucky.
I support Hydra in that one.

They'd also have killed Dr Strange before he became a Sorcerer, meaning Earth would've been destroyed by Dormammu.

It wouldn’t be because of his work as a surgeon. It would be as his position as Sorceror Supreme. So Captain America: The Winter Soldier is set after Doctor Strange. Dormammu has already been defeated.

Somehow they identified Strange's intelligence and skills as a surgeon and his personality as someone who could be any sort of threat to Hydra.

Why would Sitwell mention him when he could mention a whole list of other names? Would Cap and Falcon have known Stephen Strange? It was an odd name to mention.

They mentioned him as an easter egg that paid off later. Just like how that kid at the Stark Expo in Iron Man 2 got retconned into being Peter Parker.

I guess you’re probably right Sam that CA:TWS is set before DS but still it’s a rather contrived Easter egg IMO.

And yeah I guess it’s true that Strange wouldn’t have been able to protect earth if he’d been fried.

Honestly on paper it didn't sound too bad. But in the hands of someone like Hydra, it would have been a nightmare.

Well before Strange's accident he's on the phone weighing up possible "jobs". One is "a Marine colonel with a spinal injury from using experimental armor"...perhaps a reference to War Machine in Civil War, or not, wither way it means he's cetainly on the authorities radar before becoming a Sorcerer. (another potential patient is a twenty-something female with a brain implant set to control schizophrenia who’s been struck by lightning...Captain Marvel?)

Yeah I haven’t seen DS since it was at the cinema.

They mention the possibility of Uncle Ben dying in the battle of new york. I wouldn't mind that kind of change.
