Mine would be going on a cruise. Too many people, not enough room in your cabin, and no quiet spot to just relax.

Anytime that bad weather disrupts your plans. I live in Florida and we have hurricanes, but it's really not that often that they're a huge problem. I always feel sorry for those who save up their money to go to Disney World or Miami for a couple of weeks and end up having to flee for their lives when everything shuts down because of a high category hurricane. I'd feel really disappointed if I went to California and they had a huge earthquake or mudslides while I was there. Aside from hurricanes, a lot of people come here for a week at the beach. But occasionally it will rain for the better part of a week. Many of my trips to Europe have been during the wintertime because it's cheaper. Sometimes it's overcast during the whole trip. It's still a lot of fun, but all my photos end up looking dull and lifeless.
Of course it's just a matter of luck.

Anytime that bad weather disrupts your plans. Yep. I don't mind a couple days rain because that's routine. When you're planned & booked to make the most of vacation & it just turns forgettable with poor weather it scuks & worse leaves poor memories. I've learned to hedge with planning. Leaving extra day or so upon return home before going back to work, I can bank those as bonus good weather days to stay longer somewhere & still get home in time. You mentioned California, down the road I wanna do a SanFran-SanDiego road trip & back. Big Sur recently got mudslided or whatever shut down, that would really scuk if anyone had dream trip cancelled or worse detoured to less appealing routes.

Right now I'm road tripping in couple weeks... & I can't avoid checking the 14 day forecast, because OCD & wanting to hit the right places at their best weather & temps. I have issues lols. Then again, $180 a night or whatever, I wanna be outside not stuck in hotel room watching tv when I can f'n do that at home.

I would use my ball point pen to give myself a lobotomy before leaving on a trip to Branson, MO.
