In breath of the wild, I've heard many complaints about how the weapon breaking is a serious problem in the game. To them I say they just don't get this game, lol. Because obviously the weapon breaking mechanic only adds to the exploration. It only works in the game's favor, rather than take away from it. Could it be done differently, and work better, possibly, sure. But it definitely makes the game so much better, than if it wasn't in the game.
I dunno, am I wrong about this?

Not a Switch gamer, yet I've watched youtube vids of the game. Perhaps they might've allowed a turn off weapons breaking option, trade off maybe leading to gamers finding fewer weapons & a lesser game ending.

I get what people are coming from @joetorrence but I'm with you on this. It helps makes the game more interesting. Normally when I play RPGs I stick to only a few weapons. BOTW forces me to do something different and it makes the game more difficult. I like that.

Basically what it is, exactly what it is, is the games's way of leveling up your weapon(interms of what enemies you can and can't kill).
If the weapons didn't break, then the games leveling up system wouldn't really work would it?
And obviously in a game like this you need to have a leveling up system do you not? If the weapons didn't break, you couldn't level up (in the way it was designed in this game).
Technically it could still have the same leveling up system in this game, but without the weapons breaking, it wouldn't work quite as well. Basically all i'm saying is the weapon breaking in this game was brilliantly implemented in the leveling up system, although it's hard to explain why ok.
And then some people say, game would be better if no weapon breaking, I say, that would take away one of the best things about this game.
