Wild City (2015) After an 8 year hiatus (that started after ‘Triangle’ in 2007) Ringo Lam returns in 2015 with a Hong Kong action-noir ‘Wild City’. Always moving and efficiently stylised, but not particularly spectacular or memorable in its storytelling when compared to his earlier works.

The Taking of Pelham 123 (1974). Favorite go-to action thriller, with just the right mix of fast-paced suspense and dark humor. And that ending is killer!

Set It Off (1996). 7/10. Most of the cast is pretty good except for Kimberly Elise;apparently her film debut. Eerily similar to Ben Affleck's The Town in terms of plot.

I myself like it.
LOL, I actually even watched it the other day.

Tastes have to differ here. I hated the remake. Maybe in part because I feel like the original film captures what I think of as 'my' New York so wonderfully, and I just didn't feel anything about the switch in locale to the DC Metro; also, I think the original has a great quirky feel to it, which makes it as much character play as straight-up actioner, and the remake just came across as mindless bang-up instead. But the main plot point is still intriguing and rather likeably daft in both versions, so a lot of the preference probably speaks generational thing as much as anything else.

The Art of War (2000)Pretty mediocre effort from Wesley Snipes, considering its huge budget and that it comes with a solid cast. Sure the film opens up promisingly, but almost 2 hours is far too long for this kind of movie/plot, and the pace begin to drag on within the hour mark, which could have been easily fixed if they had trimmed down at least 20-25 minutes or more. Still some solid fight sequences thrown in, specially the violent and hard hitting final fight which was as a good as they come, but they more or less wasted the talents of both Anne Archer and Donald Sutherland, but it was cool seeing Michael Biehn in a bigger role again, even though this one is 17 years old. 5,5/10 Agreed. I always felt like this was a movie I should like more but never did. I remember watching it when it first came to PPV and being excited cuz it was Snipes and Biehn.
