Never understood cream cheese on a sandwich. I however grew up also eating green olive and jelly sandwiches, decided to give it a try after hearing it on A Pup Named Scooby Doo, they're actually pretty good, a perfect contrast of sweet and salt.

I'm not sure about that combination. I'm not brave enough to try it to find out.

One of my favorite murder-mystery authors is (the late) Sue Grafton. The peanut butter and pickle sandwich, is a staple of her most popular character, but she never specified what kind of pickle. The combinations of sweet, or dill, would be very different. It's possible that they're both delicious. One photo, here, features "bread-and-butter" pickles, which I had never thought of.
For the years that I've been reading her books, I've intended to try one ... with some kind of pickle ... but, never have. Maybe, it's best to start with "bread and butter," and asses from there.

As a child, my greaseproof paper wrapped brown bread sandwich in the brown paper bag, was more often than not peanut butter and sultana.

I had no idea this was a thing until I saw this on The Chew recently.

No more strange than the tomato sauce sandwiches I ate as a kid.

That sounds whacky, but I tried peanut butter and bologna and ended up liking it so who knows.
