Doubtful it will even live up to the original trilogy, but I’ll give it a shot. This is not only my favourite animated franchise but also my favourite trilogy in movies period. I just think that 3 ended it PERFECTLY.
Am I starting to get Indiana Jones vibes, where the original trilogy was untouchable and the 4th one was just average? That’s what I feel is gonna be the same for this.

Well, the gang at Pixar have defied expectations--and naysayers--before, so I'll reserve judgment until I see the movie.

There's just no way to top the first three. The story was completely resolved. Woody faced his ultimate fear of being thrown away, then was finally able to move on from Andy to a new life. There's no story that can follow that. They should've left it alone.

While I understand your feelings (I go back and forth a lot on this issue), I sometimes remind myself, "Hey, there are a lot of other toys--formerly in Andy's, now in Bonnie's--collection. As wonderful as Woody and Buzz have been, why should the plot always revolve around either of them?"

Besides I don't think they can come up with a better/deeper premise for toys that they haven't already used. I just foresee a Monster's University scenario where we get a movie that lacks everything that made its predecessor great.
