This 10-minute documentary by the Australian Commonwealth Film Unit was released theatrically. In Sydney, it accompanied the David Niven film "The Silken Affair", along additional short subjects ("Cradle of Great Men", "Valley of the Yarra", Woody Woodpecker's "Dopey Dick, the Pink Whale", and a Movietone film on the Queen Mother). Meanwhile, in Canberra, it accompanied the Jerry Lewis film "The Sad Sack" and a sci-fi b-movie called "The Space Children", along with a newsreel.
Do they even produce documentary shorts for theatrical release these days?

I don't think so. It would be nice if they did.
