I wonder if he would be doing a good job if you and your troll buddies were treated the same as everyone else? Who are my "troll buddies"? And how am I not treated the same as everyone else? Just a day or two ago scabab removed at least one of my posts because he felt it was counterproductive to the discussion at hand. If I had the immunity that you're claiming, why was the post taken down? ETA: To clarify, I'm not complaining about (or even questioning) Scabab's decision. That's his call, not mine. I merely used it as a recent, anecdotal example of how at least I -- though I can't speak for my nameless "troll buddies" -- am subject to the same degree of moderation as you and everyone else here. You should have emailed it to DC-Fan to post. It wouldn't have been pulled then.

It's like living in a town where the only definitely punishable offense is murder. All other offenses are dealt with on a whim, dependent on the sheriff's mood, whether he likes you and what comics you enjoy reading. For someone who is a "newbie" (going by your post count which EVERYONE can see) you seem to think that you know an awful lot about what goes on in this area in particular. Btw ... argyle is really IN this season:

Hell at this point you aren't even defending the MCU; you're just arguing for the sake of arguing. My only guess is you're trying to bait others into doing something that gets them banned, too. The problem with that plan is these so-called trolls are just people with opinions. They aren't mentally unstable enough to start doxxing or railing against admin simply because you said something they don't agree with.

Are you suggesting that DC-Fan has never had a single post edited, deleted, or otherwise reviewed by a moderator during the entire time scabab's been mod? If that's how you really feel -- and what all of these sock antics have ultimately been about -- then what's stopping you from addressing it with him or even the admin of this site directly, via PM?

So whose sock is NormanClature? Dorothy L. Sayers’s first detective-story was called 1923. It’s one of her best. Now, coming in 2018… Here my copy of the book breaks off. Does anyone know the rest? Wait a minute! Hold up! Stop everything! Never mind this DC-Fan nonsense for a minute, because now this is serious. Shit's gotten real: why the hell does formersamhmd's character get to be a billionaire playboy and not mine?!

Tut, tut, coldenhaulfield, first of all you should know that “the story, all names, characters, and incidents portrayed in this masterpiece of literature are fictitious. No identification with actual persons (living or deceased), places, buildings, and products is intended or should be inferred.” But, even if we were to examine this subject a bit more, you clearly haven’t read the twist-ending, in which it is revealed that Mr. Former is actually dirt poor, his wealth a sham only supported by the behind-the-scenes machinations (discovered by you—I mean, ahem, by hardboiled shamus Colden Haulfield) of that insidious, evil, no-good, very bad… [ Oh, my, is that the tea kettle? Have to run, toodaloo.]

Some fans can be too quick to label those who make negative comments about the movies as trolls. Criticising the movies, even repeatedly isn't actually trolling. These people aren't spamming thread and thread saying "Black Panther sucks lol". Remember this isn't a fanclub, it's a discussion board and more often than not people do explain their criticism. Some can go a bit too far to the point it's almost provoking but not that often and it's usually removed. Why not spend your time bumping threads that praise the MCU? Why bother fighting with people you don't agree with? See this is what I would agree with. Why not create an interesting thread or bump some older threads to get people talking about the MCU? Making threads like this are just counter productive, this makes matters worse. If there wasn't enough hostility between certain users anyway now you've added one more user who people will be hostile towards.

Wow, 4 pages already. I have an observation: off-topic discussions in this board actually get way more posts than on-topic discussions.

If there were a Donald Trump board and someone only posted critical or negative opinions of Donald Trump, that wouldn't be trolling. And neither is posting critical or negative opinions about a movie.

Wiki Link Re: "TROLL"In Internet slang, a troll (/troʊl, trɒl/) is a person who sows discord on the Internet by starting quarrels or upsetting people, by posting inflammatory, extraneous, or off-topic messages in an online community (such as a newsgroup, forum, chat room, or blog) with the intent of provoking readers into an emotional response] or of otherwise disrupting normal, on-topic discussion, often for the troll's amusement.
IMO: It's often a matter of "how and where": Starting a thread saying that one dislikes a particular actor would be fine. Entering a R.I.P thread or a Birthday Tribute thread and saying "I never liked him" is trolling. Constantly interrupting game threads to nitpick replies or to cite "rules" from a long dead board in a dictatorial manner also is trolling. Resorting to grade school level name calling rather than addressing the issue being discussed is trolling When someone has politely offered a reply or a link that answers an intrinsically stupid question, they should not be labelled "a troll" merely because the OP wanted a fight rather than information.
These examples of trolling are imo and possibly debatable but I am not here to debate, just offering my observations on trolling.

No one should be banned for simply having a negative or critical opinion. Even if they are so inarticulate that their arguments rarely amount to much more than, "it sucks! derp".
It's the chronic liars and frauds that should be given the heave-ho. The ones who frequently use the troll tactic of repeating falsehoods in an attempt to irritate others. Those individuals have absolutely no value whatsoever and should be expunged for the good of the forum.

These people aren't spamming thread and thread saying "Black Panther sucks lol". As far as I can tell, no one in this board ever called someone a troll just because that someone said something against the MCU. The people who are being called trolls are the ones who do nothing but say negative things about the MCU, usually in an exaggerated manner and sometimes even make stuff up or intentionally misrepresent information just to paint the MCU (or its fans) in a negative light. That's why they're being called trolls, not because they made a critical comment here and there. If I went to the DC board and did nothing except post negative stuff about the DCEU and created bate threads about it I'd be called a troll too.
