Jon Snow and Daenerys are proposed as "lead characters" now, which confirms the pitiful intellectual level of the audience of the show. I cannot say it is worrying, it is what anything popular has always shown throughout history. Dumbfucks cheer for fools and tyrants while the half-smart complain about awards "failing to recognise true value" as if it had ever been their purpose. |

I think Jon is more than day , Dany is the red herring in this story but anyway Emmys just like the
oscars have become stupid award shows

Think about it, people who make a living off an industry give awards to its own products, now why should they be doing this? It's all about feeding the snowballing hype that gets figurines and t-shirts sold, no more. How many more Ghosts, Longclaws, Drogons or Night's Watch outfits will it be this year? A great great… grandfather of mine was once nominated for such a thing. The emperor himself was to be present at the ceremony, talking silly stuff about how it was all a pillar of popular culture. Then the thing went to some fluffy smiling youngster who had sat down before a Christian and let himself be petted instead of doing his job. The crowd had loved it. Wimps  |

Think about it, people who make a living off an industry give awards to its own products, now why should they be doing this?It's all about feeding the snowballing hype that gets figurines and t-shirts sold, no more. How many more Ghosts, Longclaws, Drogons or Night's Watch outfits will it be this year? Most industries do this. Go into a public gym and you'll see "Voted Best Gym by such-and-such" or there's different annual awards for people in corporate positions. Those types of awards extend beyond just the entertainment industry. Having said that...I don't watch any of the award shows. I do enjoy watching some of the live performances on Youtube of the Tony Awards the day after they air each year. They show little segments from the top shows on Broadway with the actors acting out the show for the audience. Those are pretty fun but they aren't life-changing. If the show went away, I would continue my life pretty much the same.  |
