I've seen most of the CGI works featured in this video, save a few in the 70's but it was fun to hear somebody else's perspective. I would like to see a video about the more innovative CGI works like Evolved Virtual Creatures.

It's tough to say what's important after a certain point in time, but if you're familiar with Pacific Data Images, the company and later branch of DreamWorks Animation, they made a short film called Brick a Brac that explored illustrative shading by using selectively rendered 3D models with pieces taken in and out for different artistic effects. It's a good source of ideas even today.
