The comedy-drama from director Matt Johnson stars Jay Baruchel as Mike Lazaridis, co-founder of BlackBerry maker Research in Motion, and Glenn Howerton as the company’s former co-CEO Jim Balsillie.

Saw this a bit early. This definitely will not set the box office on fire but man oh man, I was extremely entertained, one of my favs of the year so far.
Feels a bit like Air but with better, more compelling subject matter. In spots it feels rushed---particularly Jim trying to buy a NHL team, but it moves pretty well and Jay Baruchel/Glenn Howerton blow it out of the water. Finds a perfect balance of being dramatic and hilarious. Hope it finds a market.

I saw the trailer before John Wick 4. As it was a fairly local story for me, there doesn't seem too much new new there. I'll watch it one day via streaming.

Definitely not gonna lie, as an American I remember Blackberry (I'm in my early 30's) but knew nothing about the rise and fall so though I of course know these movies will take a few liberties this was all new subject matter to me and I ate it up.

Canadian coverage of the film is less about art of its content & more about the business aspect of its legacy: www.cbc.ca/news/business/armstrong-blackberry-innovation-1.6834011

Canadian - but a kid during BB’s prime. iPhone’s definitely dominated by the time I was in high school. I definitely was not familiar with BlackBerry’s story.
Great movie. Favourite of the year so far.

I was disappointed. I didn't like The Office-style aesthetic, or the bad wigs/baldcaps, or the pacing. Did enjoy Glenn Howerton, who's in full Dennis Reynolds mode. "The Gangs Makes a Cellphone".
