Any of you ever seen this Audrey Hepburn movie directed by Terrence Young (Dr. No, From Russia With Love, Thunderball)? I just saw it for the first time. It's a good movie. Take the movie "Panic Room", set the story in a small apartment with no panic room, make the main female character blind, and you basically have a pretty similar movie. But you can't fault this movie for being similar to "Panic Room" since it came out many years earlier. If anything, fault "Panic Room" for being so similar to this movie since it came out many years later. But both movies are good despite being so similar to each other. Audrey Hepburn got a Best Actress Oscar nomination for her fine work here.
Audrey Hepbrun - Jodie Foster Julie Herrod - Kristen Stewart Alan Arkin - Dwight Yoakam Jack Weston - Jared Leto Richard Crenna - Forrest Whitaker Efrem Zimbalist Jr. - Patrick Bauchau Leonard Maltin Movie Guide Review: Wait Until Dark (1967) - 3 out of 4 stars "Solid shocker with Hepburn as blind woman left alone in apartment, terrorized by psychotic Arkin and henchmen looking for heroin they think is planted there. Memorable nailbiter, flashy role for Arkin; based on Frederick Knott's Broadway hit."

I really like it. Hepburn is very good, Alan Arkin is awesome as the villain, and it gets pretty intense at times.

Great movie, very tense, exciting and gripping. The one thing I didn't care for was the husband's behavior at the very end, when he encourages her to walk over to him. I know it obviously wasn't the intention, but it made him look like sort of a bully. Even Efrem Zimbalist, who played the role objected to it.

Really intense, one of my favorite thrillers. For some reason I was expecting something mediocre, got much more. Surprised that Arkin won no awards for his role; he's really good.
