'Veronica Lake as Peter Pan ~ Adventures In Androgyny'
āIf I had stayed in Hollywood I would have ended up like Alan Ladd and Gail Russell ā dead and buried by now. That rat race killed them and I knew it would kill me, so I had to get out. I was never psychologically meant to be a picture star. I never took it seriously. I couldnāt āliveā being a āmovie starā and I couldnāt ācampā it, and I hated being something I wasnāt.ā
- Veronica Lake, Beguiling Hollywood

Picture Show magazine was launched in 1919. It was founded by Amalgamated Press as a weekly film magazine. published in the United Kingdom between 1919 and 1960, Picture Show thus was the longest running film entertainment magazine in United Kingdom. In 1926 Picture Show introduced a hard backed annual of 160 pages , jam packed with fascinating nostalgia, interesting facts, photos and information on the stars and films of the day. The Annual was marketed at xmas holiday season, the 1926 annual is actually 1925 in film. The last Picture Show annual was 1961... A standout feature of the annuals is the stunning full page signed portraits, in three sections throughout. Bright coloured covers are a nice feature, making a wonderful shelf display. Exported only to "the colonies" the annuals however found their way all around the world and have become treasured classic collectables. I have all of the Picture Show annuals except 1944,45,46 which do not appear to exist?... Pictured the first Picture Show Annual 1926, A Sainted Devil (1924) Rudolph Valentino & Helena D'Algy

A very rare pic of Dennis Hopper (extreme right, hand on railing), as a Titanic passenger in the unaired Time Tunnel pilot. All scenes with Hopper were deleted from the print that was eventually aired.
