With only a game or two still to be played the season is all but over. (34 game season)
Cove Rangers are the Champions and they will play off against Lowland League Champions, Spartans for the right to challenge Cowdenbeath, who are bottom of League Two for a place in that league next season. Some of the Highland and Lowland League teams don't want promotion. Their facilities are not uo to SPFL standards and they are unwilling to invest in any improvements. Frankly, they can't afford it, so they're happy where they are. Four teams in the Highland League have scored in excess of 100 goals
Cove have scored 127 from 34 games Inverurie have 104 from 34 Formartine have 122 from 33 Fraserburgh have 101 from 34
At the bottom 4 teams have conceded more than 100 goals Keith have conceded 101 in 33 games Lossiemouth have conceded 125 in 34 games Strathspey have conceded 117 from 33 Fort William (bottom club) have conceded 174 in 32
The Lowland League teams play 30 games per season and only one team have topped the 100 goals. Hawick Royal Albert. the bottom club, gave up 108 goals.

If East Kilbride, instaed of losing 2-0, had seen off mid-table Stirling University in their final game they would have taken the Lowland title, finishing two points above Spartans, who drew 0-0 at home to 3rd place East Stirlingshire. It was all there for them. All they had to do was win. What rotten luck.
