Considering a bunch of the Timeline talk around here lately, I thought maybe people would want to discuss that here.
I can't remember the exact line though it involved Tony Stark when in the Sanctum. He said that something in particular, referring to Thanos had been affecting him for six years.
So is this movie supposed to be set 6 years after The Avengers? Or was the comment in reference to his illusion in Age of Ultron where he saw them all dead so is set 6 years after Age of Ultron instead?
I'm thinking perhaps the later because it would put Infinity War in 2016 if it were the former....but perhaps 2021 if it was the later and they doesn't make much sense either.

Why can't we just say Marvel handle continuity way better than Fox and leave it at that?

The timeline is fucked. He said 6 years. And he can't be referring to AoU because he had PTSD even before that (IM3).
The MCU needs to be scrapped. Infinity War should be the last movie.

Its been since Avengers. Avengers came out in 2012. It's 2018. My math says 6 yrs. It's after all the movies so far. Issue is, Ragnarok & Guardians being in space don't really relate in time. It is after Black Panther but unspecified. For all we know GotG2 took place simultaneous to Ragnarok & Homecoming. Homecoming could have been simultaneous to BP.

According to Kevin Feige, this movie is set 4 years after Guardians of the Galaxy 2 which would make it 2018.
The Avengers even though it released in 2012 was supposed to be set in 2010 though so again it's all confused.
