I actually saw that one on the big screen, in a movie theater that probably isn't there anymore. Good film. It kept my interest from beginning to end.

Very good film with a chase scene that is amazing.
I watched it because I loved Manhunter and wanted to see more of William Petersen. I watch both these films and I wonder why he wasn't more successful. He is so compelling in both films.
Anyways, this film doesn't disappoint. The counterfeiting parts of the film are really interesting. DaFoe makes a great villain. Very nice cast. I recognized a few other actors.
The Shout Factory blu ray is definitely worth getting. For this and Manhunter.

Awesome movie. I saw it in the theater when it first came out and was blown away. I never understood why it doesn't get more love.

One of my favorite crime thrillers ever.
Love Peterson, Dafoe and Pankow and the whole counterfeit theme. The counterfeiting refers not just to "funny money", but to the duplicitous characters as well. The famous car chase tops the one in the French Connection, IMO. And that climactic shootout in the locker? Damn!
Love this film. I'd give it a 9/10.

The famous car chase tops the one in the French Connection, IMO. I've always said this as well.

I agree with everybody on here. To Live & Die In LA is a fantastic, gritty crime thriller. I also agree that car chase scene topped The French Connection chase scene; positively breathtaking!

Like in what way? You mean, like, cuz it's all orange looking, the color tint or whatever I mean?
Then again i'm color blind, but it looks all orange to me. I'd say it's definitely an orange film, twin peaks on the other hand, is red.
Lol, that show's like so red.

Well, I say, the music works especially well. As i'm sure you all already know, the director had them come up with the music for the film, or the score whatever. And then designed the sequences 'around the music', instead of typically how they do it which is the other way around. It's like, the music almost works, Too well. If you know what i'm saying. Well, it's awesome though.
Is that the best thing about the film, probably, imo. For me.

An excellently edgy crime-thriller... that covers all the bases. Meticulous story, stellar performances, scorching soundtrack and gut-punching set-pieces. For me it’s Friedkin’s masterpiece.

I've adored this film since seeing it on theatrical release. Gerald Petievich wrote some great novels. Love the Wang Chung soundtrack. Just a fantastic dark, gritty crime film.
