Loved her as "Maw Maw" on Raising Hope where she was responsible for so many of the best laughs. I was not a happy camper when it ended abruptly like it did. And my favorite line of her's from Young Frankenstein: " YES! YES! Say it. He vas my... BOYFRIEND!!!" Happy birthday, great lady, and many more!

One of the best actresses in the world. In addition to her Oscar win, she's received 20 Emmy nominations (a record for an actor, I believe), and won eight. She's made us laugh for years, and in The Last Picture Show she made us cry. She's had a 70 year career and is still going strong.
Happy Birthday, dear Cloris. Thanks for the memories.

Great actress but she will always be Phyllis for me. Remember she always talked about her husband Lars?

Of course I do not watch US TV (or much any TV for that matter) and I must have seen her in many films without noticing her. But no-one has mentioned the one role that her name does conjure up for me, her short-lived appearance in the dramatic opening of Kiss Me Deadly (1955), one of my favorite American movies.

Cloris is a beautiful comic genius. Frau Blucher is a legend but Cloris is equally hilarious as Nurse Diesel in HIGH ANXIETY.

Just because I m jelous of her lifestyle and she hs done really well doesnt mean I am goign to drag her down for it. I think some people dont realise they are doing it. Still posting your Zen-like pronouncements despite your change of handle? Great stuff! Keep it up!

You will be loved forever. I'll never forget you in so many roles, but in particular I'll always cherish these: The Last Picture Show (Oscar win) The Woman Who Willed a Miracle (1983 TV) (Emmy win) Happy Birthday, dear Cloris. May it be a glorious one! Thanks for the memories.

Happy birthday 93rd Cloris Leachman! While I've watched her be funny all my life on The Mary Tyler Moore Show, Phyllis and The Facts of Life, it wasn't until the extremely hilarious but prematurely cancelled Raising Hope that she really went all-out to create comedic genius. If you've never seen this show, check it out. She's the best thing on it, gets all the best lines, brilliant! Here she is doing double duty: As Maw Maw and as Maw Maw's mother!
