Haven't watched it since it first came out on VHS. Alright for a bit of fun. Some decent nods to other horror films. 6.5/10. Made 20 years ago. Must be a remake on the way.

I dug it when it came out. Basically an invaders of the body snatchers with high school kids. I thought, and still think, Jordana Brewster is beautiful.
I remember Disturbing Behavior came out at the same time with similar themes.

I watched it last year for the very first time and liked the concept/character study "mix-up" and its soundtrack. However, I thought the film lost some of its quality or creativity towards the final part but still it was a much better made film than what I thought and ended up rating it with a 6/10.

I remember liking it, but I always felt the references to other movies felt really forced. It was the post-Scream sort of era where everything had to be self referential and set in a high school. For those parameters it was certainly better than most. Pretty good cast, pretty good director, and pretty good effects. I also ended up with a 6/10 rating.

Nurse Harper, Miss Burke, Principal Drake, not to mention Delilah. If you went to that HS you could let your Playboy subscription expire.

Basically an invaders of the body snatchers with high school kids. I liken it to The Breakfast Club meets The Thing. This is one of those movies my family loves to quote. "This IS the test" *slurp* I can see how the finale can be a little disappointing. Who the Queen Bee turns out to be is one of the biggest shoulder shrug reveals in movie history. And yeah, this movie loves its references. But Williamson is a little better at it than his imitators.

Was having a character named Edward Furlong a joke? Surely. And then Robert Patrick is in it and the main character is named "Connor", probably also references to T2...I just don't know what T2 has to do with a movie about aliens invading a high school.

Love this movie. So much fun.
Funny fact: The French Canadian title for it is “Les ensaignants”. “Enseignants” means “teachers”. They changed the “seignants” part to “saignants” which is pronounced the same but means “bloody”. So damn cheesy lol.

I haven't watched it in 20 years but a great deal sticks in the memory including the weird ending where everyone but the principal and the rat are back in their jobs despite losing eyes or having their heads detached. When Jon Stewart's name started getting better known, this film came to mind.

One of my favourite Robert Rodriguez films, second only to From Dusk Till Dawn.

Love it... a very fun parasitic horror film that was well cast.

Rewatched it last week, enjoyable reboot of the Invasion of the Body Snatchers (1956) or The Puppet Masters (1994), or maybe a little of both? The Faculty (1998) even addresses this, which prompted me to watch all the movie versions afterwards.

The Faculty (1998) even addresses this, which prompted me to watch all the movie versions afterwards. Haven't seen it, or this thread, in years. How'd it feel now? If I recall some of the CG effects weren't great, but were used pretty sparingly. If it had been made now they'd look better but would be massively overused, and they'd never have shot on film, so it would have a flat, glossy, digital look with none of the richness and texture of this movie. They might be able to find some good young actors now, but this was a pretty strong cast at the time, and most of these people have gone on to have real careers. They even look like high schoolers, which was often not the case. I remember mostly liking it, but finding the direct post-scream self referential movie name dropping a bit tiresome. And there was a cover of Pink Floyd's Another Brick in the Wall that I kinda recall being a bit hokey.

Saw it as a Teen in theaters. Had the Soundtrack but I lost it. I remember my Dad enjoying it. He's not a big horror fan. So that was surprising. I haven't watched it in awhile. But I generally remember liking it overall.
