Well, that... was an episode that happened.
It became apparent fairly quickly that "Tommy" would turn out to be "The Human Target," especially since they hid his face when Diggle went to find him, but had no compunction about showing Tommy in the preview. It kind of makes me think of a criticism I've often had for the likes of say, Days of Our Lives, where the lie or misdirection would have been better. In this case, I briefly entertained the idea that Tommy was alive this whole time; and that for some undisclosed reason Diggle of all people knew and had kept the secret. There's all kinds of directions that story might go, especially explaining why Diggle would do that, and what Tommy has been doing the last 6 years; as well as why he wouldn't be sticking around.
I'll admit, at the risk of being a fool, I did not immediately see Chase being the judge coming; and was initially impressed... Until I started thinking about it and wondered how plausible it would be for that to hold up, or that the real judge wouldn't be believed that he'd been replaced; especially since Diaz knew about the Human Target.
So now Oliver's been acquitted, meaning no ramifications if he does publicly admit his identity; so that's probably how the season will end, and this likely also means no Supermax story...
Yet again, I had this moment when Oliver talked about not wanting to put a target on his son or wife's back, it just seemed disonant that he was talking about Felicity. It was like Arrested Development - "Her?" Also, hilarious how he has this concern, when every single person he's gone up against finds out who he is, or knows from the start, and he and his loved ones are targets anyway. Also also, he talks about retiring from being the Green Arrow someday, but he's just spent the last half a dozen episodes or so saying how much being the Green Arrow completes him...

Oliver has been acquitted if being the Green Arrow, he may still be open to charges of being The Arrow however, or various other things, he can be tried for being the Green Arrow in the future, all the charges he faced were for prior indiscretions, any new acts of vigilantism and he can be tried for it.
Also someones not keeping up on spoilers are they? I try not to but fucking youtube keeps forwarding me to them when I watch Arrow related videos, damn you youtube.

Are you asking me if I'm not keeping up on spoilers? Mainly what's posted here. Is there some major development coming up that runs contrary to any of my speculation?
My impression of the trial was that the prosecution combined charges for the Hood, Arrow and Green Arrow; that the whomever was one was all three, and that Roy was only ever covering for that person during his original arrest. Oliver testified that all three masked aliases were the same person, as did "Tommy," and in the prosecutor's closing statement she talked about Roy taking the fall for Oliver as an accepted fact, setting the precedent that Oliver will let someone else do the same, in this case with "Tommy."

I don't want to say what speculation you may have is possibly wrong due to spoilers ive seen/heard as if you haven't it's likely due to you being smart enough to stear clear of them, I'm a numpty and got spoiled accidentally.
As for Oliver the thing is to me the charges were 26 counts of something, I forgot what, I'm assuming that's bodies he's dropped but that was the number he had killed by episode 20 of S1, since then he's dropped a shit load more and is blamed for several bodies he never even dropped so their are multiple more charges he can be tried on, plus as I said anything new he does he can get tried for also, unless his actions are sanctioned somehow.
The trial only rules out him being charged again for the crimes he has committed that he was tried for, any they left out or any he commits from here on is still subject for a new trial, like if he has a showdown in GA gear with Diaz and is caught red handed, filmed doing so or killing Diaz that's a new charge he can and would be charged with, as is the case of many criminals with a long history of charges but no convictions.
